My Arctic summer in Iceland

Last year, in July, my family and I spent a wonderful 13-day holiday in Iceland, as they call it, The Land of Fire and Ice. It was a real refresher, as we flew from 35 degrees to a cool 15 degrees.

On our way we also stopped at the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, a must-see area, if you ask me! This lagoon, located in south-east Iceland, was formed by the melting ice of the Vatnajökull glacier.

There are an infinite number of pieces of ice floating in the lagoon. They vary in size and shape, from almost real icebergs to small ones that are barely visible. In the blue-green waters they create stunning landscapes.

When you get tired of this view 🙃, you can make a 90-degree turn and you're looking at a completely different landscape. The white ice chunks floating on the intense blue water, shines so intensively that they almost blinded me.

I hope I've managed to show you a little piece of this lovely glacier lagoon. Until next time!

Thanks for reading,
feel free to leave a comment, I will be glad to reply to.
Best regards, @miljo76

Hi @erikah, we have also been planning to go on this holiday for quite some time. We managed to do it last year and I can only say that we would do it again. Maybe next time in the winter time.

Thanks @pumarte, I very much appreciate what you have written! It's exactly as you wrote, everything is very different or unusual, at least to my perception. Geysers, volcanoes, lava fields, glaciers and more and more. When you stand by a mighty waterfall you feel the power of nature and realise how small and powerless man is. I very much hope that you will soon be able to fly all over the world and visit all the places you want to see and feel and publish wonderful posts about it. I am looking forward to it!
