Green is among us | POBphotocontest: GREEN

Spring is a wonderful season. After a sleepy winter, spring brings the reawakening of nature. Plants come alive again under the warm rays of the sun, and before we know it, we are surrounded by green all around us.

Nature mixes countless different shades of green on its colour palette in front of our eyes.

Green is the colour of balance and harmony. It is the colour of growth, spring, renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores energy. It is a refuge from the everyday stresses of modern life and brings back a sense of well-being.
It is the most soothing colour for the human eye and, you won't believe it, it even improves eyesight. I read somewhere years ago that dark green is associated with money, yellow-green with jealousy, water-green with protection and olive-green with peace.

The photos above were taken a few years ago on a trip around Lake Bled (Slovenia), while the photos below were taken last spring in my mother-in-law's garden, where she had planted the herbs she needs to make delicious herbal omelettes.

This weekend we are going to visit her, and I really hope she will make us her delicious herbal omelettes, which the whole family likes.

Olive-green (peace). Maybe, this is the reason why we feel a sense of calmness and tranquility whenever we are surrounded by nature. Beautiful and lovely pictures. You reminded me of my mother's garden at home. 😊
