A pleasant start of summer

In Slovenia the start of summer almost coincides with the end of the school year. Since my son has finished his school year, we had a nice family dinner to celebrate. Best of all, I didn't have to cook, because my mother-in-law invited us to their place in Goriska Brda.

While dinner was cooking, I took the opportunity to take some photos around the house. To my surprise, I came across some bees collecting pollen on lavender. I immediately smelled the typical lavender scent in the air and was carried away instantly. I love its smell and everything associated with it, from lavander soap to lavender-flavoured ice cream. If you haven't tried lavender honey, I highly recommend it!

After a few minutes of taking photos, dinner was on the table. So I switched off my camera and joined the others for a delicious dinner.

Here the school classes also end in the summer. And then there are two months of holidays, July and August are the hottest months. What a nice place your mother-in-law lives in. The smell of flowers must be really nice...

Hi @jordy0827, it's the same here with the school. The kids are at home for two whole months, but the parents still have to go to work 🙃 Luckily, there are holidays when we can go to the seaside or to the mountains together. My mother-in-law has a really great view of Brda from her terrace 😮 For me, one of the most beautiful areas in Slovenia! The scent of lavender takes me to the seaside. Maybe because they sell dried lavender here at seaside and everything smelled of it. Have a nice weekend!

Thank you for the compliments @erikah! Goriska Brda is a true pearl, many compare it to the Italian Tuscany and call it the Slovenian Tuscany. Beautiful nature, delicious food and home to the best wine in Slovenia, which is exported all over the world. It's really worth a visit.

Great place to stay. Everything seems perfect. The lavender flower adds to the beauty of the place where your mother-in-law lives.
