How I Befriended An Aged Man Without Knowing.

I never for once get to choose my friend maybe,it's because,i do not like how distant they become when they found a new ally.

Have you seen a loner before?
Well,i know of one, two, three..... and five thereabout.
And fortunately, i was an addition to the aforementioned numbers.
Is that hard to believe? I know right.

Well,this was me in full fledge.......
I preferred being alone.
I loved being indoor especially when all of my necessities such as food, junks,power supply,mobile data were within my reach. (I could literally stay in all weeks without stepping out,that was typical me...lol )
And also,i do not talk too much because my words tends to be more weightier than myself(i'm not in any way trying to brag, and i'm sorry if i'm beginning to sound like that) As i was saying,many times, have seen people gotten offended because of it.
So,nowadays,have learnt in an hard way to keep my ideas to myself unless i'm being asked.
I was like this because that was my narrow minded way of curbing mistrust,misconception, miscommunication, betrayal, denial etc.

My friend! Where have you been? you travelled or na school no free you lately?
The aged man asked hurriedly,expecting a quick response that'll at least kill his curiosity concurrently, i was taken aback and for splitting seconds i indistinctly muttered the word "friend".
I had this unearthly demeanor because, i was of this school of thought that sees the word "friend" as a word that's far too heavy to be pronounced or bequeathed on people carelessly like that.
Don't i have friends? Of course, I do but, i rather took them as acquaintances even when they see me as a friend.

"Everyone needs a friend"...

Day in, day out,
Whether dusk or dawn,
Whether the cloud is crying blood or water,
During the good days or bad days,
Whether in a good countenance or otherwise.
Excitingly, cheerfully and with a contagious smile i would greet the old man, who has a small stall beside my residence.(where he earned his daily bread through his cobbling job)
Perhaps, that's one of the "do with" ingredients of friendship. Just maybe, that was why the aged man took me as a friend.
It takes two to tango right?
My friend! Na home i travel go ooo, i replied. The right choice of words finally found me.

Dear Younger Me/ Young Ones,

•Good friends are rare to find and harder to keep.
Also, it takes two good friends to make a good friendship.
• You can never be a good friend to others when you're a bad friend to yourself hence,you can't give what you don't have.
• The quality of your friendship determines the quantity of your life, so be mindful of who you choose as a friend
• Give so much love to yourself and you wouldn't seem desperate to earn other people's love in form of attention and care in any SHIP.(Whether friendship or relationship)..
• Don't be desperate else, you'll be prey on.

"The friend you never had is the friend you've never been to yourself "...
