Having some spectacular burgers in the company of an ice cold Weisse.

Well, let’s see. It is more than a month since I last posted in this community, and attend the #beersaturday challenge, but here we are!

About two weeks ago we visited the second biggest city in Bulgaria - Plovdov and particularly “Kapana” streets, where you can find various different and exquisite places to eat or have a drink. My wife has visited the place at least a couple of times before, but it was my first time to go at this burger restaurant.

It was noontime and it was hot… we needed some beer and we were hungry! Is there a better company than an ice cold beer and tasty burgers?

While we were waiting the burgers we ordered some french fries with slow roasted pulled pork meat. Yummy! And the beers came almost immediately, with the potatoes. We chose weisse beer - Schöfferhofer, which is one of the most consumed wheat beers here in Bulgaria. I think that one beer was far from enough, but I was gonna be driving later in the evening… couldn’t have more than one.

The french fries were amazing and the meat made a perfect match for them.

Soon the burgers arrived too! They had some onion rings for decoration and looked very… high! They were narrow, but were constructed with height. Mine had a special sweet sauce with blue cheese, while my wife chose a bit Japanese influenced one. She had an interesting sauce inside, but I think it was the better one. Mine was just too sweet for my palate.

This doesn’t mean that it qas bad! It was more than perfect, just a bit too sweet for me. The beef burgers were medium grilled, and this is how you will get them if you don’t tell your preferences to the waiter.

We payed about $40 fot this set, but it was more than enough for us… we felt so full and I wasn’t hungry up until the next morning. Money well spent, and yes, the two beers were about $5. I know that most of you know this beer and have tasted it a lot of times, so this time I will not describe it at all. It was cold, hazy and refreshing - everything that you will seek in a Schöfferhofer.

This will end my post today, because seeing these photos again makes me hungry… time to prepare the dinner!
