Splinterlands | CHAOS REAR GUARD is an amazing Defensive Monster

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands Players!

I hope all of you are doing well in your life and enjoying the weekend with your family and friends. If you are a Hive user then most probably you also have a splinterlands account which is one of the top projects running on this chain and a game with thousands of active players and investors. If you play this game regularly like me, then you have noticed that we have come past the middle of this ongoing ranked season already and only around 6 days left for this season to end. So we should focus on our gameplay and reach our goals, be it to enter a particular league’s tier or run for the champion leaderboard.

My Season Progress

For me, I am Right now playing at the Diamond I tier with a current trophy rating of 3,480 and another 220 trophies I have to earn more in order to reach the Champion league. But the road is very tough because, in these last days, most of the players at these top tiers get super active and play all day and let's not dare to see the actual battlefield as I become a bloodbath. So I will be trying to reach into the Champion League early this time and have already been working on that.

Now, let us come to the main topic of this post as today, I will be talking about an amazing defensive water card today which I often use to defend my front position, especially when I am expecting melee and ranged attacks. As you have already shown him in the thumbnail above, today I will be showcasing CHAOS REAR GUARD. So, without causing any further delay, let us jump right in!



Chaos Rear Guard

CHAOS REAR GUARD is a newly added Rebellion edition card that belongs to the Water element. Thus monster costs 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily fit this card from low to medium mana matches in your lineup and also in little leagues ruleset matches. It is a common type card that needs a total of 400 BCX pf cards to become max level and the attack type of this card is melee and it has a large chunk of health + armour combo along with the shield ability. Which makes it super durable against melee and ranged attackers. Let us now take a deeper look into its stats and abilities league wise below.

BRONZE

At level 3, this card gets 1 melee attack at 1 speed with 3 armour and 5 health along with the Shield ability that it gets since its initial level. Even at bronze league, he is powerful enough to shield you against multiple strong melee and ranged attacks.

SILVER

When being upgraded to level 5, this card possesses 1 melee attack at 1 speed with 4 armour and 6 health along with the shield ability. The increased stats will help you to stay alive for longer while keep attacking.

GOLD

When you upgrade this card to level 8, it receives the same 1 melee attack at 1 speed but with an increased 6 armour and 8 health. The shield ability is still with him to protect against melee and ranged attacks but its comparatively weaker to strong magic monsters.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally when this card gets upgraded to max level of 10, it possesses an increased 2 melee attack at 1 speed with 6 armour and 9 health along with the Shield ability. However, even at level 10, it does not get any new ability but I think he has enough already for what is it’s true purpose.

Battle Link


BATTLE STAT

As I started playing today and was searching for a suitable match. Finally after some time, I got a small 18 mana limit match where every element but Dragon was Allowed to be chosen from. There were 3 rulesets which were applied on this match - Back to Basics, Reach and Blast. So I started thinking and then built my lineup accordingly.

For my strategy, I chose Water summoner Kelye Frendul and at my front position, I chose Chaos Rear Guard followed by Cruel Sethropod, Torrent Fiend, Angelic Mandarin, Xenith Archer and Igor Darkspear at the end place of my lineup. My strategy here is to make a very strong defense with Chaos and Cruel and then use archers to launch all attacks on the opponent’s front place full on.

As both the lineups got revealed, I found out that my opponent also used the same Kelya summoner and at his front position, he placed the Hardy Stonefish followed by Pelacor Bandit, Torrent Fiend. Kulu Swimhunter, Merdhampir and Igor Darkspear at the end position. He also built very similar type of Lineup and attacking only my front card, only his front defense is a bit weak and stronger archers at back. Now, let us see who wins this match!

Round 1

As the match begins, the enemy bandit and swimhunter launched 2 brutal attacks on me. But then I also successfully killed his front card Stonefish an also wounded the bandit. My Rear Guard also was wounded only 2 health remaining, but he attacked and killed down the bandit.

Round 2

At second round, my rear got dead by the enemy swimhunter’s range attack but my cruel Was still holding the front. Then my archers attacked and almost killed Down the swimhunter, but on the other side, my Cruel and Fiend also got killed down.

Round 3

At third round, My Xenith archer attacked first and killed down the wounded swimhunter, followed by my Igor who then killed down the enemy Merdhampir. The only monster that was alive on the opposite lineup was the attack-less Igor which also got taken care off soon after. Hence, I won another amazing splinter fight and earned myself some SPS and glints.
