I started playing on Splinterlands in mid-October 2019 and more than 3.5 years after my first game battle, Splinterlands is still my favorite blockchain game and I still enjoy playing, optimizing my card collection and posting content about Splinterlands in my Hive blog.

When I started playing on Splinterlands the number of players was much less than the number of players today, there were only Alpha and Beta cards and most importantly there were no bots.

As time went on, the number of bots increased and their efficiency also increased, creating discontent among the real players.

In three and a half years I have never used bots because I have always considered bots a serious problem for the future of my favorite blockchain game.

That is why I am really very very happy that a little over 15 days ago proposal number 28 (Splinterlands will try to implement anti-bot measures in Modern format) passed the threshold of 66.67% favorable votes and was approved with the final result of 74% favorable votes.

I currently play in the ranked battles of the Wild Format because I have many strong cards from the BETA collection but I am looking forward to the introduction of the anti-bot measures in the Modern Format and when these measures are introduced I will immediately switch to the Modern Format and play exclusively in the ranked battles of the Modern Format.

When I switch to the Modern Format I will not be able to use my cards from the BETA collection and in my card collection I have 15 summoners and 292 monster cards from the Beta edition for a total of 2514 BCX.

To prepare for the change from Wild Format to Modern Format, I have made changes to my card collection optimization activity which is now completely focused on acquiring cards that can be used in Modern Format Ranked Battles.

The optimization strategy I have decided to follow is as follows:

• sell the cards that I consider to be of little use in battle and that I hardly ever or never use in battle.
• sell cards that I consider useful in battle but only from a certain level to which I cannot elevate them because they cost a lot of money
• buy only cards that I consider very useful in the battles of the Gold+ leagues of the Modern Format.
• sell the BETA cards which:
  • are not in high demand on the rental market and have a low rental price
  • have low Production Points attribute and it will not be advantageous for me to use them as worker cards in my land plots when Lands phase 1.5 starts.

The battle strength of my card collection allows me to play easily in Wild Format's Gold leagues but is not yet strong enough to allow me to play stably in Wild Format's Diamond+ leagues.

Playing from the earliest days of the seasons in the Diamond leagues is the gaming goal that I have been pursuing for quite some time but have not yet achieved even though in some seasons I have come very close to achieving it.

For example at the time I am writing this post there are 6 days and 14 hours left until the end of the season and I am in the Gold II league with a rating of 2251 points.

If I want to reach my game goal I must continue to increase the battle power of my card collection and to do so I must purchase new cards useful in battle and/or increase the level of the cards I use in battle.

However, my purchasing power is currently very limited because I only have 104K DEC available.

In the past 30 days I have completed several purchase/upgrade goals and spent almost 399K DEC to make the purchases you can see in the following images (screenshots from: https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/history).

I now have 4 top level summoners that I can use in the Diamond+ leagues of the Wild and Modern Format: Tarsa, Keyla Frendul, Obsidian and Quix the Devious.

The other summoners I have in my collection that I would like to upgrade to the highest level are:

• Grandmaster Rathe level 3 (I am one BCX away and have an active BID offer).
• Lorna Shine level 7 (I have 101 BCX out of 115 needed)
• Byzantine Kitty level 3 (is my favorite summoner but level 4 is a medium to long term goal of mine because of the very high cost per BCX)
• Thaddius Brood level 5

In May I also completed purchase/upgrade goals related to monster cards:

• Chaos Dragon: level 2 -> level Max (upgrade)
• Uriel The Purifier: level 2 -> level Max (upgrade)
• Kain Hace level 1 (purchase)
• Runemancer Florre of level 1 (purchase)
• Mordeus level 6 (purchase)
• Countess Sinash: level 1 -> level Max (upgrade)
• Grund: level 3 -> level 4 (ugrade)
• Iza the Fanged: level 3 -> level Max (upgrade)

Sell and Buy: Death Elemental and Elven Mystic

If I want to continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection I have to make sacrifices and sell some cards to increase my amount of DEC to use to make new purchases or upgrades.

Today I looked at my entire card collection using the My Cards section of Peakmonsters: https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/card

When I have to decide whether to sell a card I ask myself the following questions:

Is it a card that I use in battle?
Is it a card that has good value on the rental market?
Is it a card that I will be able to stake profitably in my land plots?

If the answers to the previous questions are all negative, I am looking at a card I can sell!

The My Cards section of Peakmonsters is really very useful because it allows me to have for each of my cards so much useful information in one screen (Low Buy, Best Price, Best Bid, Levels and abilities, ...) and this information makes my evaluation process much easier.

For example, today I decided to offer 1 BCX of Death Elemental Gold Foil (level 2) for sale and I will explain my evaluation process and why I decided to sell it.

For me playing in Gold+ Death Elemental level 1 leagues, it is not a very useful card in battle because I have better alternatives and I hardly ever use it.

Also Element Death cards will not allow me to get a production bonus if used in my land plots and in two cases (Forest and Hills) would give me a penalty of -50%.

The advantage of using a Gold card in battle is the bonus on Rewards Points for each battle won but a Gold card if not used loses this advantage.

Death Elemental is a very useful card in battles that have precise rulesets such as the Wands Out ruleset.

Death Elemental would become very useful for me only from level 4 because it acquires the Silence ability that decreases the magic attack of opponent cards by one point and in a battle where you can only use cards with magic attack (Wands Out) would always be a good choice.

To bring Death Elemental gold foil from level 1 to level 4 I would have to buy another 3 BCX and spend $23,331

In this case instead of spending 23,331$ to upgrade the gold version (level 1->4) I could sell Death Elemental Gold from level 1:

• To buy Death Elemental level 4 in regular version** which would cost me $24,172 - $7,742 = $16.43

• To purchase Elven Mystic level 4 (25 BCX) which would cost me $42,500 - $7,742 = 34,758

There is also an additional option which is what I chose to do: make BID purchase offers to try to save money.

My final choice was this:

• I put Death Elemental level 1 (Gold Foil) on sale for $7,741.

• I made a BID to purchase 25 BCX of Elven Mystic surpassing the best purchase offer on the market.

If my optimization operation (selling and buying) will be successful:

• I will have increased the battle strength of my card collection because I will have sold a card that I never used in battle
• I will have added a card with the Silence ability in my card collection that I can use especially in battles with the Wands Out ruleset in combination with other cards with the Silence ability.

Between an element card and a neutral card with similar stats I always prefer to purchase the neutral card if the purchase cost is not exaggeratedly high compared to the element card because it is almost always the best purchase to make.

If my purchase offers are not accepted I will increase my purchase offers.

In this post I shared one of my optimization choices but today I put many cards from my collection up for sale following the same evaluation process and if my sale offers are accepted I will have more DEC to continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection.

L'Ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte in preparazione del mio cambio dal Wild Format al Modern Format

Ho iniziato a giocare su Splinterlands a metà ottobre 2019 e dopo più di 3 anni e mezzo dalla mia prima battaglia Splinterlands è ancore il mio gioco blockchain preferito e ancora mi diverto a giocare, a ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte e a pubblicare contenuti su Splinterlands nel mio Hive blog.

Quando ho iniziato a giocare su Splinterlands il numero dei giocatori era molto inferiore al numero dei giocatori di oggi, c'erano solo le carte Alpha e Beta e soprattutto non c'erano i bots.

Con il passare del tempo il numero dei bots è aumentato ed è aumentata anche la loro efficienza creando il malcontento tra i giocatori reali.

In tre anni e mezzo non ho mai utilizzato bots perchè ho sempre considerato i bots un serio problema per il futuro del mio gioco blockchain preferito.

Per questo motivo sono davvero molto molto contento che poco più di 15 giorni fa la proposta numero 28 (Splinterlands will try to implement anti-bot measures in Modern format) ha superato la soglia del 66.67% di voti favorevole e che è stata approvata con il risultato finale del 74% di voti a favore.

Attualmente gioco nelle ranked battle del Wild Format perchè ho molte carte forti della collezione BETA ma aspetto con eccitazione l'introduzione delle misure anti-bot nel Modern Format e quando queste misure saranno introdotte passerò immediatamente nel Modern Format e giocherò esclusivamente nelle ranked battles del Modern Format.

Quando passerò nel Modern Format non potrò usare le mie carte della collezione BETA e nella mia collezione di carte ho 15 evocatori e 292 carte mostro dell'edizione Beta per un totale di 2514 BCX.

Per prepararmi al cambio dal Wild Format al Modern Format ho apportato delle modifiche alla mia attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte che adesso è completamente focalizzata sull'acqisto delle carte utilizzabili nelle Ranked Battles del Modern Format.

La strategia di ottimizzazione che ho deciso di seguire è la seguente:

• vendere le carte che considero poco utili in battaglia e che non uso quasi mai o mai in battaglia
• vendere le carte che considero utili in battaglia ma solo a partire da un determinato livello a cui non posso elevarle perchè costano molto
• acquistare solo le carte che considero molto utili nelle battaglia delle leghe Gold+ del Modern Format.
• vendere le carte BETA che:
  • non sono molto richieste sul mercato del noleggio e hanno un prezzo di noleggio basso
  • hanno l'attributo Production Points basso e non sarà vantaggioso per me utilizzarle come worker cards nei miei land plots quando la fase 1.5 delle Lands inizierà.

La forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte mi permette di giocare agevolmente nelle leghe Gold del Wild Format ma non è ancora sufficientemente forte da permettermi di giocare stabilmente nelle leghe Diamond+ del Wild Format.

Giacare fin dai primi giorni delle stagioni nelle leghe Diamond è l'obiettivo di gioco che inseguo da diverso tempo ma che non ho ancora raggiunto anche se in qualche stagione sono arrivato molto vicino a raggiungerlo.

Ad esempio nel momento in cui sto scrivendo questo post mancano 6 giorni e 14 ore alla fine della stagione e sono in lega Gold II con un punteggio di rating di 2251 punti.

Se voglio raggiungere il mio obiettivo di gioco devo continuare ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte e per farlo devo acquistare nuove carte utili in battaglia e/o aumentare il livello delle carte che uso in battaglia.

La mia potenza di acquisto è però al momento molto limitata perchè ho solo 104K DEC a disposizione.

Negli ultimi 30 giorni ho completato diversi obiettivi di acquisto/upgrade e ho speso quasi 399K DEC per fare gli acquisti che puoi vedere nelle immagini seguenti (screenshots from: https://peakmonsters.com/@libertycrypto27/history).

Ho adesso 4 evocatori di massimo livello che posso utilizzare nelle leghe Diamond+ del Wild e del Modern Format: Tarsa, Keyla Frendul, Obsidian e Quix the Devious

Gli altri evocatori che ho nella mia collezione e che vorrei portare al massimo livello sono:

• Grandmaster Rathe di livello 3 (mi manca un solo BCX e ho un offerta BID attiva)
• Lorna Shine di livello 7 (ho 101 BCX su 115 necessari)
• Byzantine Kitty di livello 3 (è il mio evocatore preferito ma il quarto livello è un mio obiettivo di medio-lungo termine a causa del costo per BCX molto alto)
• Thaddius Brood di livello 5

Nel mese di maggio ho completato anche degli obiettivi di acquisto/upgrade relativi alle carte mostro:

Sell and Buy: Death Elemental e Elven Mystic

Se voglio continuare ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte devo fare dei sacrifici e vendere alcune carte per aumentare il mio quantitativo di DEC da utilizzare per fare nuovi acquisti o upgrades.

Quando devo decidere se vendere una carta mi pongo le seguenti domande:

E' una carta che uso in battaglia?
E' una carta che ha un buon valore sul mercato del noleggio?
E' una carta che potrò mettere in stake con profitto nei miei land plots?

Se le risposte alle precedenti domande sono tutte negative ho davanti una carta che posso vendere!

La sezione My Cards di Peakmonsters è davvero molto utile perchè mi permette di avere per ogni mia carta tante informazioni utili in una sola schermata (Low Buy, Best Price, Best Bid, Levels and abilities, ...) e queste informazioni facilitano di molto il mio processo di valutazione.

Ad esempio oggi ho deciso di mettere in vendita 1 BCX di Death Elemental Gold Foil (livello 2) e ti spiego il mio processo di valutazione e perchè ho deciso di venderla.

Per me che gioco nelle leghe Gold+ Death Elemental di livello 1 non è una carta molto utile in battaglia perchè ho alternative migliori e non la utilizzo praticamente mai.

Inoltre le carte dell'elemento Death non non mi permetteranno di ottenere un bonus di produzione se utilizzate nei miei land plots e in due casi (Forest e Hills) mi darebbero una penalità del -50%.

Il vantaggio di usare una carta Gold in battaglia è il bonus sui Rewards Points per ogni battaglia vinta ma una carta Gold se non utilizzata perde questo vantaggio.

Death Elemental è una carta molto utile nelle battaglie che hanno precise rulesets come ad esempio la ruleset Wands Out.

Death Elemental diventerebbe molto utile per me solo a partire dal livello 4 perchè acquisisce l'abilità Silence che diminuisce di un punto l'attacco magico delle carte avversarie e in una battaglia in cui è possibile utilizzare solo carte con attacco magico (Wands Out) sarebbe sempre un'ottima scelta.

Per portare Death Elemental gold foil dal livello 1 al livello 4 dovrei acquistare altri 3 BCX e spendere 23.331$

In questo caso invece di spendere 23.331$ per fare l'upgrade della versione gold (livello 1->4) potrei vendere Death Elemental Gold di livello 1:

• per acquistare Death Elemental di livello 4 in versione regular che mi costerebbe 24.172$ - 7.742$ = 16.43$

• per acquistare Elven Mystic di livello 4 (25 BCX) che mi costerebbe 42.500$ - 7.742$ = 34.758$

C'è anche un ulteriore opzione che è quella che ho scelto di fare io: fare offerte di acquisto BID per cercare di risparmiare.

La mia scelta finale è stata questa:

• ho messo in vendita Death Elemental di livello 1 (Gold Foil) al prezzo di 7.741$

• ho fatto un offerta BID per acquistare 25 BCX di Elven Mystic superando l'offerta di acquisto migliore presente sul mercato.

Se la mia operazione di ottimizzazione (vendita e acquisto) riuscirà:

• avrò aumentato la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte perchè avrò venduto una carta che non utilizzavo mai in battaglia
• avrò aggiunto una carta con l'abilità Silence nella mia collezione di carte che potrò utilizzare soprattutto nelle battaglie con la ruleset Wands Out in combinazione con altre carte con l'abilità Silence.

Tra una carta di un elemento e una carta neutrale con statistiche simili preferisco sempre acquistare la carta neutrale se il costo di acquisto non è esageratamente alto rispetto alla carte dell'elemento perchè è quasi sempre il miglior acquisto da fare.

Se le mie offerte di acquisto non saranno accettate aumenterò le mie offerte di acquisto.

In questo post ho condiviso una mia scelta di ottimizzazione ma oggi ho messo in vendita molte carte della mia collezione seguendo lo stesso processo di valutazione e se le mie offerte di vendita saranno accettata avrò più DEC per continuare ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.
