avatar

Have you ever tried "Kue Gabin"? I am not sure why this snack is called "Kue Gabin". It is very popular here. It is made from puff crackers that is layered with fermented cassava. This time I would like share how to make "Kue Gabin".

Ingredients

500 gram of fermented cassava
100 gram of sugar
1 sachet of condensed milk
1 pack of puff crackers
2 spoons of wheat flour

Steps

Make the dough of fermented cassava

  • Put fermented cassava, milk, sugar and wheat flour in a pan and mix.
  • Take a puff cracker and put the dough of fermented cassava on it.

  • Put another puff cracker on the layer.

Here is the puff cake that has been layered with the dough of fermented cassava.

  • After all the puff crackers are layered, fry the puff crackers in medium heating.

  • Your "Kue Gabin " is ready.

Kue Gabin is sweet because it is layered with fermented cassava. The fermented cassava has originally sweet taste.

Kue Gabin can be served as a meal for break time. You can also have this snack with a cup of coffee, juice, or tea. It can be saved in your refrigerator.

For you who wants to reduce sugar consumption, I do not recommend this cake because it has high sugar. It has a lot of calories. I think it is good for kids who are active doing activities.

In the fasting month, the cake can be served for fasting break or early breakfast (sahur).

Actually there are some benefits of fermented cassava for our body. One for them is to boost energy because fermented cassava has high glucose. Thanks for reading I hope you enjoy it!

According to this recipe, in my experience, we will add a little more coconut meat, it adds more flavor.

I could imagine how yummy the cassava is. Cassava is my favorite and it’s my first time to hear your own version to cook cassava differently. In the picture , the plating is a breath of fresh air that indeed palatable looking. Maybe it taste crunchy but soft inside, mouthwatering, sweet and creamy and I could smell the tempting aroma of cassava.

The smell of fermented cassava is very sweet. Fermented cassava has little alcohol in it so it will warm your body when you consume it.
