To those doing honest work... Happy Labour Day.

I've always known that Labour Day is one of those celebrated days out there but it has never been something I keep tabs on. I don't look forward to it coming and there has never been a moment in my working life when someone said "Happy Labour Day" to me... Except today. Haha.

Maybe it's because I've been edging towards this "work for yourself and work from home" life where we basically work round the clock if it so pleases us. Haha. Because of that, even when others are taking holidays and getting a day off work because it's "labor day", I grind on with my work because "it doesn't matter to me".

See... I know what it's all about. I know it's a day to celebrate workers for the role they play in the economy and society at large. It just doesn't strike me, because of the work I do, as a day to sit back and soak myself with excitement. In fact, I slept off last night while editing a video and I woke by 4am this morning to do a few work-related stuff before jumping straight into that editing room.

It was already 10am when I was checking my messages and noticed that one of my colleagues from the banking days sent a "Happy Workers Day" to me. Hahah. My first reaction was to check the Internet and that was when I realized what today is all about. Haha.

Well, since I'm already aware of what this day is about, it would be in order to say a Happy Labour Day to y'all.

Being part of the workforce in most countries at this time in human history isn't an easy thing. We work way too much to the point where it affects our health. Yet, we barely earn enough money to buy flashy cars or build a very good house. Some leave their home at dawn and come home when it's already too late for anyone to be awake.

Yet, these same "workaholics" can't even afford to take their family on a vacation to any continent of their choice. Ask around. Ask those that work off their ass. You would be surprised to know that even if some people accumulate 100% of whatever they earn as a whole, it would still be insufficient to take them on a 3-day vacation to a different continent.

Sad, right!

It's not just sad. That's depressing!

Talk about those who do honest work. A lot of those in that category struggle to feed 3 times a day. And, they pull up to work each day to work themselves to the bones. Plus, the economy is becoming such a mess. Plus, they even get treated like peasants in their workplace despite all their certifications, competence, and good attitude to work.

Well, this isn't a day to shine light on the sad reality that faces workers. However, this is also the truth that has to be said. It's such a pitiful situation out there. And, I can go on and on. But, this is where I will end it. Big Ups to those who still believe in honest work. I'm proud of y'all.

God's Grace will be with you.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

The tittle of the post got me laughing you know...

Because of that, even when others are taking holidays and getting a day off work because it's "labor day", I grind on with my work because "it doesn't matter to me".

Hehe! I conducted a poll on LinkedIn to know if freelancers do observe public holidays like this because I was really curious 🤨
The answer I got is not far from what you have just said...

So now, I must say I understand where the tittle of the Post is coming from 😂

Haha... Working from home is a wild experience. When you see someone that's serious with work, the person basically works the whole week without differentiating Monday from Sunday 😂.

That's the dilemma and also the interesting thing about working from home. Haha
