People are not thrilled about your messy adulthood.

For a lot of people, they see themselves as adults just because they have reached the legal age which puts them in the adulthood bracket in their geographical area. They see adulthood as the age when they are free to do their own thing without having to be fully subjected to the decisions of their parents.

Once that age is around the corner, folks embrace it with so much anticipation of what adulthood will bring to the table. As they take a deep dive into adulthood, the experience obviously varies. However, one thing that's quite common for most people is that being an adult means they now have to be accountable and take responsibility for their own life.

Indeed, the world is already going to shit and a lot of things are no longer the same as how they were when I was still a kid. However, what remains the same is that most kids do not have to worry too much about the economy. They don't have to worry about a monetary investment they made. Also, they don't have to worry about what to eat or where the next meal is coming from.

Meanwhile, as an adult who already has a slight clue of how the world works, you just can't stop thinking and working towards making the right decisions. You know you have to get it right in your relationship with people. You know you have to make a good career choice and you know you can't afford to shit the bed when making a whole lot of decisions.

You know how everyone goes on to say that adulthood is hard. That's because it's truly hard to be an adult.

We probably don't do a good job of getting teens prepared to voluntarily embrace what it entails to be an adult. This is why a lot of people made a lot of bad decisions when they became adults and some of those bad decisions generated repercussions that made adulthood harder than it was ever supposed to be.

A good example of what we get to do as adults is to choose our sacrifice. Adulthood will throw a lot on your path and it's obvious you have to choose to do a few things while sacrificing a few other things.

  • You can choose to party, flex your life, and carelessly spend every penny that gets into your account when you are a young adult.

  • You can also choose to use that moment to learn important skills, improve yourself, build a future for yourself, and hopefully do fairly inspiring things.

At every moment of your life as an adult, you are faced with decisions which you have to make and each decision comes with a sacrifice. Yeah! The sacrifice is inevitable. The result is also not guaranteed. Now, you can choose to sacrifice every other thing to build a business and grow it into a high-net-worth enterprise.

Would that guarantee success?
Nope!

Even with the best plan, you can still get a very shitty result. And, the world won't be there to listen to why you failed. You will even feel like you wasted your time chasing something unachievable. These are just a few of the things we have to face as adults and I can guarantee that none of those are easy to deal with. It explains why some adults are going through a hellish adulthood experience.

The question of who to blame is something we will look into some other time. For now, the truth remains that adulthood is hard. That's also the case even for someone who's having a fairly inspiring adulthood.

I don’t even know why it’s programmed that way but sometimes it really hurts when you hit the rock bottom and it feels like nobody is even there, things will happen normal, the world will be normal,
Nothing stops for you to even catch your breath

That's the sad reality we have to face. It doesn't feel right. However, the world truly doesn't pause for anyone.

We grind and we grind until we hit goals. However, once we face a downtrend, the world moves on like we never existed in it.

If only there was a manual to this adulthood journey, perhaps things might be a little easier, but there is none, we can only do our best to get the best out of life.

Sometimes I miss being a kid, without too much worry about life, but I'm here now and all I can do is my best and hope that it will cut it in the end.

That's true. Adulthood is just like life in general. It doesn't come with a journal or any heads-up. We just dive into it and it's even trickier because each person's experience is unique to that person alone.

Honestly it’s understandable what you mean by we don’t get teens prepared for what’s in front of them but the truth is no amount of preparation can get anyone prepared for adulthood.
There’s always going to unexpected things happening all the time to people.

That's a fact. It doesn't hurt to be prepared. However, no amount of preparedness actually gets us set for whatever the future holds for us.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

What you say about adulthood is nothing but the truth. We just need to keep striving very hard because we are their already and won't be going back to childhood so let's keep our heads up in making the adulthood less hard for us.

That's true. The fact is that we are already actors and whether we like it or not, we have to make the best use of our adulthood in order to set out a decent life for ourselves and those around us.
