I've been keeping this item for sentimental reasons.

I have a very limited list of items in my home which I keep just because of the sentimental attachment I have with those. To be fair, I can only think of one object in my home which I see every day but I don't particularly use it for anything.

Read on to know what I'm talking about and why I'm still keeping this object around.

You see, I never really had an opportunity to have a room of my own until a few years ago when I graduated from University. Before that, I grew up in a two-room apartment with my parents and four siblings. I subsequently went to a boarding school in junior and high school where double bed metal bunks were used.

We had at least 200 occupants in each hall during those days and "privacy" was too much of a luxury for anyone. Things because a little different when I got into University. I still didn't have enough funds to get a solo room or rent an apartment off campus. So, I stayed in a school hostel from my freshman year to my final year and I had at least 6 roommates in each year of my study.

After living with people all my life, one of the things I anticipated about having an apartment of my own was the idea of organizing my stuff the way I wanted. I try as much as possible to only get items which I have used for and I'm in the habit of disposing any item that's no longer of any use.

The reason for that is fairly obvious in my case;

  • Firstly, I don't want to have crap all over my place. Things like that make me feel like everywhere is disorganized and my mind goes bunkers seeing those things.

  • Secondly, I'm still living in a rented apartment and I don't particularly have enough space to stack up items that are not useful to me.

The one item that I've not been using and I genuinely don't mind having around is the food flask I got from Mum when I traveled back home last year's November.

After several years of living away from home, I traveled back to Anambra for a week, and on my way back, Mum served me a full flask of my native delicacy called Achicha. I remember relaxing in my apartment to eat that meal after a very long 11-hour journey. I even had a huge portion of the food which I stored in my freezer.

That was pretty much the only moment I ever used the food flask. I washed it afterward and I can see the food flask smiling at me as I write this post. Haha. I just can't seem to use it for any other thing. I have plates so I wouldn't use that as a plates. I also have 4 set containers which I use to store food in my freezer, so I can't use the flask for that.

I don't usually hesitate to throw items that don't have use cases away. Yet, I never considered throwing this food flask away. Not even once. Lol. My sister will be coming to my place on the 25th of this month. So, I would have to hand it over to her when she's traveling back home.

I'm sure the food flask will be put to better use when it reunites with Mum.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

Of course, I don’t expect you to throw this away. It’s not just for anyone but your mom.
I don’t think you’ll hear word if your sister comes and doesn’t return with it o🤣

Please send the cooler back home so it will among it's peers cause I'd like to think that there are others.

Lol... Oh, my ! Haha.

This food flask is actually really good. And I know some guys that take their food flask to restaurants if they want to buy food. But, I'm not just good at that. Haha.

I will be sending it back home soon.
