Time Lord [Poetry]

What if we lived forever
What if our existence was timeless?

Like immortals living unending days
In a world shaped like an horizon without dusk
Nights and days intermingle
And become unrecognisable.

Never to stare death in the face
Never to see our skins fold into sad wrinkles
Or feel our organs weaken and fail
Or hear our joints crack like old floorboards
And our hearts' beat and rhythm slowed.

Would life still be beautiful and magical then
Or lose its splendour in ageless monotony?
Would we cherish every moment
Or be overwhelmed by a sense of ennui?

We would embark on quests without end
And gorge on all life can offer
Yet unsatisfying
We would cry and bleed for more.

Time lords over us with the bait of eternity
Every moment is fleeting
A stringent check on our whims and reveries
The next phase hooks and propels
So that we seize each day as dynamic beings
And let our passions flourish.

Time never stops surprising us, in spite of we talk about it every day in one way or another. It covers us endlessly as your lines did recently!
