The Stone In Your Centre [Poetry]

Invisible but potent
The feel of this intense emotion
It's anger, child
Your lens, dusty and dim
Blinds you to reality
You're irritable
Or perhaps uncaring enough
For a flimsy fault
You hold a grudge
Unto eternity

This intense feeling
Like a stone
Sits in the pit of your centre
Until remorse is born
And an olive branch appears
Your spirit lifts in a sigh
But your head resists
Chin raised high
You ignore the apology
And hope to pierce the heart
With your silence
Shaped like a spear
To draw blood

Yet the stone remains
Heavy within your centre
Pulling you down
What values comes
From your inflated ego?
Had you accepted the apology
You'd be free as a bird
Soaring in happiness
And health
Now you remain in sadness
Your plight unresolved
And wish to reverse time
To make everything
Right again
