The hottest evening of the year

And it feels like summer....

It was the hottest evening of the year up until now. 32 degrees celsius still at 20.00 and still sweating like a maniac. A proper summer evening designed to spend it outside with some friends, some music and some beers.

Absolutely no reason to sit inside when the sun is starting to die down, it means hitting the streets (or the garden) to spend these moments somewhere outdoors.

Not at one of the big summer music festival which are currently hosted every week somewhere, but just around the corner at one of the favorite beer houses and try out some stuff again.





While at the moment while writing this all of the big music festivals throughout the Netherlands and Belgium are being cancelled due to thunderstorms, on the warmest night of the year this wasn't the case. It was calm, laid back and way too warm to move at any other pace than just being in chillmode.

Rabauw

Back to Rabauw beer cafe as the place to just chill and let it slide. I have written about this place before in another post but hadn't chilled on the outside terrace before as yet.





But I would say this is highly approved of a place. Also sending out the orders with a QR code on the table if you want something easy of the menu. But als with the option of ordering something special at the bar itself or at the guys passing by, always more than willing to help.

And I know it is cursing in the church while drinking some beers....But suppplying some extra bottles of water for no charge at a beer cafe, just because it is so hot outside...

That is just service if you ask me and I love it!

Beers and bites

What I love at a place that also serves beers that they also have some kind of a food menu. Maybe some cheese and bites, or maybe a hotdog or burger if you want something bigger,

But als when there is the option when you want a real meal around dinner time, that there is also that option. As real meals in this time they had a pan of mussels (yummy!!!), a dish with pork belly, or this mashed potato with beef stew

As I had written earlier in the week that I had to get rid of a tooth, this was acutally the perfect slurpable meal with not that much chewing that suited my appetite and wasnt too much of a hassle

About the taste? It was way better than expected honestly..a lovely dish and a good filler of the belly while enjoying a beer.

The competition in this area for the battle of the beers is high at the moment, a lot of new bars and places have opened here with all a bit of their own concept, making it not so easy to choose the right place.

The winner of Rabauw? The option that you can buy your drink in a glass of 0.3 and 0.4 but also in a 0.15 glass which is more of a tasting glass for just when you want to try something.

I love this. Damn, actually I love summer nights!
