🤫 Nothing Quite Like A Good Old-Fashioned Scare 😱

gif.gif

Sometimes you have to strike playful terror into the heart of your teenage daughter to remind her you are at the top of the food chain.

I Do Other Dadly Things Too 🥱

I don't only scare my daughters several times daily. I often cook, give life advice, and also work full-time on the side, but I cook quite well and scare even better. Hiding behind the front door is my go-to place because it's near the stove, so when I'm cooking I can actually see someone's coming before they notice me. In this case I arranged the scare just for a custom thumbnail GIF, no other reason, sorry @srey-yuu.

Sometimes I bore my daughters so much that they poof their cheeks and look at me with a bit of scorn. Before this picture was taken I had just asked Monkey-B, aka @sakana, how she's coming along on her latest Hive post, something in the works for weeks, perhaps months. I took her non-answer as an answer.

Surprise Nutsara 👶

asddd.png

Every day our youngest neighbor Nutsara stops by to say hi, show the latest addition to her collection of teeth, and search for any snacks that might be hiding in plain sight, particularly raisins. On this day raisins were nowhere to be found, but my wife had just finished a batch of stir-fried noodles that Nutsara showed some interest in.

With some careful chopstickery work Srey-Yuu managed to deliver the noodles in manageable bites and keep Nutsara's attention for nearly a full minute. I still only speak English with her in hopes she'll just have to figure out what I'm saying as she grows up and develops speech. She spends enough time at our house that I imagine she'll pick it up through osmosis.

You Can't Hide T-Bird 🪞

The above image perfectly captured the natural resting emotional state of my daughters. I asked Monkey-B to hug sister and got ready for the results. Of course little sister is ecstatic and big sister couldn't be more annoyed. T-Bird is another one of Srey-Yuu's nicknames, the T standing for teenager, one of the words she hates most in the English language. That's all for now folks, 2:51 am, another failed attempt to post and be in bed by a reasonable hour.

Love to see that GIF and how her face changes from neutral to scared to laughing

P.S. Have you considered letting A.I. write your posts so you can catch up on sleep? ;<)

Haha, I did get three emotions in that short GIF. I have experimented with A.I. writing sites, mostly just giving some silly prompts to see what it will write. I think if I was a celebrity with lots of public info for the software to learn from, A.I. could probably write posts better than me in my own style.

I have some examples of A.I.'s ability to write songs about anything in the style of any well-know artist. On one podcast about A.I. text creation, I heard the lyrics of a song about cheeseburgers in the style of Beyonce, and it was disturbingly accurate and well-done.

Hahaha, cute. I also love to do that to my Mom and my siblings, like startle them laugh to their reaction. But, I feel more disappointed when they don't react the way I want it. My way of scaring them is kinda boring, I Think, lol.

Anyways hello to that cutie Nutsara. Such a cutie the way she smile ❤️

I think I get way too into scaring my family at times. I've been known to hide in bushes, behind clothes, under the bed, and just about anywhere I can fit if I think it will be a good opportunity. Every now and then my daughters give me a good scare, and I usually give them a bow and gesture of respect if it is done well 😉😁.

I, too, am well versed in the Teenager Expression of Disgust. It's a universal expression, understood by both teenagers and parents world wide.

No matter what nation, culture, ethnicity, or gender, the universality of teenage over-it-ness is constant.
