👩🎓 Monkey-B Resumes English Studies
Monkey-B, aka @sakana, has more or less given up on her Hive blogging journey. The earnings from the former account she shared with her sister were split between her and her sister's new accounts, but Monkey-B never put in the effort despite wanting her own blog. Big sister earned 95% of the money, so I felt it fair to power down all but 250 HP from her account and send it to @srey-yuu. Just because she's abandoned Hive and Khan Academy doesn't mean she can be lazy though, so I've forced her to resume English studies so that things are still productive.
🔦 Srey-Yuu, Laser Master
Srey-Yuu earns her own money unlike basically every other kid in our village and in her grade. There was a time when she thought this wasn't fair, but now at the age of 14 she realizes this is a great gift. Although she still doesn't enjoy washing dishes, she takes a lot of pride in the fact she pays for her own gas money, buys her own snacks at school, and even buys things for ChairWoman Meow and I.
Her most recent gift was a red laser pointer she found in a stall for less than 50 cents. Even if this cheap toy lasted an afternoon, it was money well spent because Meow was very entertained. Some cats aren't laser chasers, but Meow is, and this means we can wear her out easily without having to physically play with her for a long period of time. She's trained to my finger pointing for hunting, so I think I can begin using the laser to highlight wall geckos, grasshoppers, and other tasty treats.

I still claim to not be a cat lover, even when I see cats other than Meow, I feel nothing for them. I love that Srey-Yuu takes pride in her independence, and even though most of her friends get $2 to $3 a day to spend at school, she isn't jealous at all. Her life trajectory will be so different than her school friends, and she will look back and hopefully thank me for my efforts.
Well done monkey, at least get her ass working on the Engrish!
Yep, and now that it's been so long she's forgotten the basics. I noticed in the last week that her reading and writing abilities are about the same as they were in Suriname. Use it or lose it is the old saying, and I think Monkey-B now realizes why it's so hard to stop and start every few years.
So adorable cat, when we really facing studies, there were no lot of times we have. But if we do time management, we can handle it very well. Monkey -B is a good kid and also srey-yuu.
True, we sometimes have to entertain our kitty or play with her so she will tire and behave. It is definitely worth it though because she brings us all much joy each day. Thanks for the kind words my friend.

Srey Yu looks absolutely delighted that you are taking a pictures of her washing the dishes. I also admire how South East Asians are capable of holding a squat position for so long. If I try to do that, even with the little stool for more than a few minutes, I can no longer feel my legs and will have difficulty standing back up... I will likely fall down.
Yeah, she has a pretty standard stink-eye look when I harass her from the window. The only reason I think the SE Asian squat works with me well is because I used to pull weeds for a living, and the squat was the position I spent much of my day. I also like how a social squat has a time limit, usually around 20 minutes or so. There are some folks in the village that I don't want inside my house for various reasons, so popping a squat somewhere else on the property is a way to engage with them while still maintaining some boundaries.
I worked in landscaping some summers back when I was in high school and college. I could never handle the squat. I was a crawling on my knees kind of guy.
So proud to @srey-yuu for being so responsible ate very young age ❤️ I hope kids here in our place is like her. ❤️
I am more proud of her than she will ever know, and I am so thankful she takes pride in financial independence at such a young age.
