πŸ‘¨β€πŸ Brother-In-Law Welds Gate πŸš™ & Wealthy Trespassers Use Our Land For Pooping 🚽

cdvfbg.png

We are still making forward progress on our new home despite having nearly depleted all non-Hive financial assets, and rich Phnom Penh folk continue to use our land for pee stops with or without consent.

β›© Gate More Than Needed πŸ‘¨β€πŸ

mmmmmm.png

Β  Β  Β Kind of ironic that when I took these pics I didn't know that trespassers would soon remind me of the reason I need this gate. At the moment there are only brothers-in-law working on our home project. They recently from a 4-man team to a 3-man team because my nephew-in-law had an opportunity to get hired and receive training to work in automotive factory. After Bong Kaev joined the crew things have become much easier because he has many tools and machines that make everything easier, especially the welder.

🀴 A New Throne 🚽

ghghg.png

Β  Β  Β I think I already shared a picture of this throne toilet before, and for now it still patiently waits outside the home for an installation. We have a working toilet in the bathroom, but lid is the wrong size and we can find no replacement, plus it has no flush tank. Because of this situation we waste a lot of water flushing the toilet with a dipper, so the modern upgrade should result in easier deuces/tinkles, and less water pumping trips to the river.

The Chinese Tuk-Tuk πŸ›Ί

Β  Β  Β My brother-in-law Bong Kaev has a tuk-tuk also, but his is a cargo bed version, so it makes transporting many things much easier than mine. There is a pickup truck version of my diesel tuk-tuk, but with only one seat for the driver, my family wouldn't have liked that purchase much. Bong Kaev drove this tuk-tuk from Takeo to here so he could arrive with all his tools, and I am surprised this Chinese tuk-tuk made it.

vvvv.png

Β  Β  Β The engine is so loud that you can barely hear the exhaust, sounds a bit like someone shaking nuts and bolts inside a coffee can. The build quality between the Indian and Chinese tuk-tuks available here is very easy to see. This beast requires additional cooling from a slow-drip water jug located to the right-hand side of the driver. A small hose lets water fall drip by drip on the cylinder head until the jug, providing a bit of a radiator experience, also the norm for most motorcycle with trailer combos.

Trespassing Poopers 🚽

cccccvccc.png

Β  Β  Β While trying to create a post, I suddenly noticed some obviously Phnom Penh rich folk strangers enjoying the view from my cabin's veranda. I assumed they were invited by someone, perhaps my wife or in-laws, but nope, just some rich folks from the capital that helped themselves to our property and bathroom without our consent. The icing on the cake is that when they left they asked my wife where the owner was, and she mentioned it was hers. They responding by asking her if she just holds the land for someone else and works here.

pppp.png

Β  Β  Β I think the rich folk talked to her in this way because my wife was helping with the construction work and dressed in normal clothes, not the typical idea of what a Cambodian person from Phnom Penh imagines a fellow landowner to look like. Not only did the VIPs poop in our bathroom without taking their muddy shoes off , they also helped themselves to a full tour of the land while waiting for fellow VIP crappers and pissers. The level of entitlement rich Cambodians have is mind-boggling sometimes, these same kind of folks are the ones driving massive SUVs, cutting corners on the highway while driving 120 km/h and leaving me with a half meter of shoulder to drive on while they honk to let everyone know VIPs need them to clear the road.

Glad the property is progressing positively. Sorry for the pooping rich uninvited guests though. I can feel the frustration 2000km away.

In the future I may consider boobytrapping the bathroom when we leave the home because we often return to find we have uninvited guests. I can't wait to get gates on the fence, it will be a game changer.

'Lifestyle of the rich and famous' ( Remember that song? )

Looks like those people act as if they are visiting a ZOO, without realizing that they are, in fact, the 'animals'.

That sounds familiar, not sure why, gonna have to YouTube it. They are disgusted by our primitive bathroom and the walk to it, but we keep it clean, and grass and rocks aren't dirty, but even a spotlessly clean bathroom in the countryside isn't worthy of removing muddy shoes first. If intruded in their compound in the city, I would be shot dead by private security guards before I could get my muddy feet in the bathroom.

They walked right into your home without asking?!?! Anywhere else, they could have been arrested.

Yeah, Cambodia is a weird place, self-awareness and entitlement are a big problem here. I blame this partially on a culture that adores VIPs, almost like 'Merica in some ways, where we are made to believe we could all be millionaires if we just worked harder. The VIPs here are surrounded by "yes men" and are praised by the monks, so most people just give them a free pass to drive like assholes and generally just act like assholes with zero repercussions.

I would definitely kick them out of my place with that kind of behaviour an attitude.
"Money can't buy class/manner" is always true.
hope the project finishes fast. So that you won't get anymore crappers coming in uninvited.

Ohh my that's terrible sir @justinparke. The way you wrote the last part makes me feel you're totally annoyed. I think ma'am @Srey-Yuu dressed simple just like the others housewives so they dare to asked her that way. They show no respect you should reported them.

We moved here to escape people like this, so the irony is not lost on me. Where I'm from in the USA, poor people wouldn't be afraid to be rude to rich folk passing through from New York or California if they had no manners. I don't like that this culture praises VIPs regardless of how they made their money or what their character/morals are.

you were a lot more kind to these rich lookey loos than I would have been. You have the patience of a saint.

We have no business signs of any kind, clearly a private residence, but rich folks from the capital are just a little too entitled, you kind of have to treat VIPs like 3-year-olds. They surround themselves with "yes men" in their daily lives, so when they go on road trips they have little to no self-awareness.

Strangely enough, stuff like this is kind of why I like living in Cambodia, it's almost like an alternative universe at times, not always pleasant, but challenging and intriguing.

well they are lucky they were not in Virginia-tucky where they would have been shot on site.

Phantom rich people pooping? Omg. That's worth further investigation and inquiring minds want to know more. Wow.

Who are these crappy rich folk. Why can't they afford to buy their own bathroom and maids? They should and deserve to be charged extra for the invasion of your home. And property.

Here in the USA... That entitlement is a felony crime. Burglary. To be in someone's home in a state that has CASTLE DOCTRINE? That can be a legal murder of all those that are participating in that crime.

How scary to have strangers inside your home that are breaking the law.

Without theft, this is still a serious crime in there is laws and courts that would take this on.

Good thing you are not hurt!

Even worse is when camping trespassers leave a poop patch for you to step, not even enough respect to dig a cathole. Entitlement combined with a lack of self-awareness and unlimited funds create some pretty weird characters over here. These wealthy folk are easily able to get visas to the USA, and through the grapevine I've heard lots of stories of rich Cambodians going to the USA and being confronted for being uncouth in public.

There are laws here in Cambodia, but they aren't enforced, even the government workers don't know the laws they are supposed to enforcing, makes for a situation that is a lot like the movie Idiocracy. It's damn frustrating at times, but Cambodia is still an alien planet to me even after 13 years here and speaking the language fluently. I would bet 1/3 of the country works for the government here, and it's often these people with the least manners.

Sure would be a shame if those rich ignorant people ran into a horror movie. Which I'm guessing happened a lot.

Well here that wouldn't be a smart idea. Infact I can tell a guest to leave and if they don't? That is grounds for a lethal response.

Not everyone plays with the same rules...

Hahahaha, they have no respect. They should remove their shoes. Then they popped in your throne? So bad. But they are lucky that you understand them.

I would think they could at least be decent enough to remove their shoes, but I also realize they are wearing very expensive things and not used to walking on mud, grass, and rocks. I love watching them walk because it's very clear they are disgusted by not having a walking path or sidewalk to the bathroom. They've never worked a hard day in their lives and just haven't had a lot of life experience, so I try empathize with them, but it's frustrating.

Even me, I felt disgusting an attitude like that and maybe they didn't believe that your wife is the owner.Maybe if they know, they would ask permission from her.
