Reward Remodeling: A Bizarre Season's End

1000322900.png

It is the end of another season, and new changes have emerged. I originally thought we would get our usual chests, SPS, and so on, but we didn't. I got about 62 gold chests, many of which were actually diamond chests, and I was hoping to get a good chunk of SPS. Unfortunately, we didn't, and SPS was completely removed from the entire chest. I thought they could have just given us this one.

Send us off with some decent rewards before the new system goes into effect, at the very least, to leave a good impression before everything changes, but this did not happen.

We didn't Get The Send Off We All Wanted

My 62 chest only contained one BCX legendary IZIAR and some epic cards; overall, they were decent soulbound rewards, but SPS was always the iota of surprise in every reward. Players have always had SPS expectations at the end of the season; this new reward system removes that element, and we are back to simply playing.

I believe that the players and investors accepted the concept of soulbound rewards because it was logical. Soulbound cards give you more free cards to compete for and earn even better SPS rewards.

It was a good change to assist smaller players, but completely removing the focus and reward system with GWEN SHOPPING

The GWEN SHOP is Something You Should Look Into

I mean, it didn't Correlate

I just feel like this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I went shopping (Gwen) and discovered that you can not exactly burn your redundant soulbound cards and replace them with the ones you want. You must first purchase and open some sort of drawer or case. It is more like using merit to buy gladius cases, which is not very good.

It is like burning what you have now to buy something you do not know you will get. I expected a section for gold and regular cards, where players could burn the type of card they had to obtain the type of card they burned. For example, burning a GFL to get another GFL. This feels more purposeful and intentional, but burning a GFL, for example, and having to compete for a draw to get common cards is extremely awful, and for the first time, I feel like this is the end of the bad.

The SPS Per Win Wild Didn't Really Increase

The SPS per win did not significantly increase; I assume this stylishly removes or reduces SPS rewards. Having more investment for a reduction in rewards is not entirely logical, and I am just curious to see how this all plays out.
My expectations for the GWEN SHOP differ from what I have seen; it is not your go-to shop for what you are looking for, which adds to the confusion.

The game feels increasingly disincentivizing as time passes, and I thought the most recent change was excellent, which is correct, but this one is awful, I must say.

I still want to keep accumulating gladius cards through guild play, except now you can buy draws to get them through Glints

My plans have not changed

I will continue to play as long as I am able; the only difference is that I will wait for better prices to profit rather than waiting any longer. I believe the CEO is attempting to add value to the system, retain more funds, and increase the value of many assets. However, the glint replacement feels like overkill, and I hope it does not bite back. I adore Splinterlands; it has served as a haven for me, a source of relaxation.
It has kept me busy throughout my grieving process, which is why it is more than just a game to me. However, removing elements of surprise, hope for the end of the season, and so on depletes the essence.

Congratulations still for successfully ending the season, even if you didn't get the desired rewards. Hope is still the best resort

I can understand your frustration there when you buy a soulbound card, you don't know which one you get and so waste precious glints...

Exactly it's just like buying gladius cases and don't really know what do expect, except in this case, glint might even be difficult to earn, especially for upcoming players. It feels really saddening

Many people feel the same as you about the changes, but overall I think in the long run they will be beneficial. There are still surprises when try to get cards and overall the amount of SPS being paid out in modern is significantly higher. Let's just hope SPS goes up.

Well I hope so too. It's quite chaotic in Wild and it's saddening, I hope you're right.

The glint thing has me worried too. Changes are coming way too quickly and in my view aren't always well thought out...

They didn't give you many gold cards at all in the EOS, that really sucks. I got no legendary cards in my primary account. But my secondary account of course pulled a gold legendary Iziar. The secondary account seems to pull gf legendary cards all the time, and yet my primary has only ever pulled one since I started playing before Chaos... Makes no sense...

I hope they make this work, because right now we all have a lot invested in cards and the game!

How are you doing today?

The Glint system doesn't feel right. It's like the changes are meant to benefit the top players. Removing the DEC value of gladius cards wasn't good too, but we could bear with that one. I just think losing all SPS is not a good one. I have played about 15 games since the new system lost about 12 and won only 3, so how am I supposed to get SPS now that earning SPS now depends on winning alone? Means more modern players will move to Wild to earn easier SPS.
CONGRATULATIONS on your GF IZIAR amazing, I got one BCX of it.

I know a guy with diamond chests and didn't get any legendary cards at all..

I'm not sure what to do either. It feels like they are trying to kill the game....

The GWEN SHOP is Something You Should Look Into

I most definitely should. I didn’t understand most of this post because it seems like veteran language. But if you’re not happy about it and you’re a big player, it definitely must not be good for smaller players either.

Well it's understandable, it's just that I've studied a lot about the latest changes on splinterlands, so it seems like technical. I'm also getting to understand the new changes. Im also a very small player, compared to the big boys and to me, it's not really a good change

I understand your views and considerations.
In my opinion the new system will be fine if the team will improve the game experience and fun otherwise not

I don't know how they plan to improve and achieve this. I feel we should have just tapered off a little while without changing anything. A lot of people are not currently liking these changes, I don't think it's fun either.

Happy month of April,
The potential of Glint is interesting. Title and Soul Bound Cards are my target.
Have you got an idea of what you will do with your Glint?
Thank you for sharing this informative article

That's right we have just read posts about change so some people don't like it and people will never like to burn their hard earned money.

I was a bit surprised to see SPS being removed from the chests too. However, I do think it gave us more cards and I did get a legendary chest. So I don't think it was all that bad. The new reward shop looks like we get the choice to pick but less rewards overall. As for the burning of gladiators, it sucks to hear you have to buy something also.

Less reward overall even if you're getting to pick, plus you don't earn enough Glint endless you're playing diamond or champion in modern and it's just so surprising, I don't know, I feel like maybe the changes are to help SPS increase in value.

Yea. it's not looking good for the people in the lower leagues comparing the price of shop and what we get.

I thought the shop was supposed to give you the SB card you want rather it's another rabbit hole buying draws and all that
