LPUD Participant: My Art Entry

Interpreting The Concept

When I was about to participate in this art entry, I needed to create a compelling concept of what LPUD truly was. Basically, everyone understands the concept of staking or powering up.

The feeling that accompanies staking is that of satisfaction and celebration.

Of course, we know it as establishing commitment on hive. It's always a win-win situation when a person can establish commitment on the chain as well as grow themselves.

So we all know that LPUD is a definitive period where staking helps one reach milestones in terms of numbers and depicting this in an art form wouldn't totally be strange to me.

Establishing The Theme

So what I have is the drawing of a lion that's flexing its biceps with a table in front of him. On the table is a stake that's piercing through a coin.

So basically, biceps translates to strength and power. While the literal meaning of power, on hive or on leofinance, it totally differs, as owning power on hive is not physical strength, what it connotatively means is having skin in the game.

The Idea Of Staking In Art

So basically staking is like flexing one's biceps, waving their goals with pride and due diligence.

We all know that with more powered-up Leo, comes more curation rewards and other added benefits as well. This concept typically translates to the theme of the drawing.

Once again, I decide to use a man-lion depiction, instead of the regular lion. With my previous drawing, everyone already knows that I'm more of a Sketcher.

The end-result

The Art Details

I feel that painting or coloring my drawings will kill the details. Details are the most intricate part of a sketch. This is how an artist gives identity to his art.

So I have used the shadings to create the right body effect.

So you'll basically understand the concept when you focus on the idea that the lion is a participant in LPUD, and flexing his biceps is a way of proving that he's trying participated in powering up. And the stake and stack of coins on the table is a proof of work.

The Process

This is the process of drawing, I majorly start my drawing by measuring how big or small I want it to be and I do this by drawing the mane on the lion's head.

Nice drawing. I think the idea of skin in the game is quite good. Just keep powering up and it makes sense that the lion is flexing.

Hahaha thank you, I also think that this type of art will properly depict what staking truly means.

It's easy, just practice and you'll need the right flair/talent to also be able to do well.

This is a great one. The strength of his muscles must signal that he's an apex lion :)

Coloring it would have faded the details, It's always better when the details are able to stand out or be clearly visible.

Hahah a lot of artist do not know that colouring takes away details, unless they're professional artists that colours and still create that detailed effect

Yeah, when it comes to sketching, it's all in the details. That's how I began my artistic journey back in the day. I don't really do much detailed sketching now... more knifework in oils on canvas.

Oil on canvas is as difficult as it comes. I remember trying to even think of going into it and the details it requires is unimaginable. Sketching is what I mainly do

Yeah, it takes a lot of time and dedication, especially to develop a style. I should actually be publishing my artworks on Hive...

This is really cool man! I've never been visually creative (I'm a musician) so I've always had an appreciation for people who could create both casually and professionally. Love the pics of the progression too!

Well, I can create be it content or art, I'm able to replicate them in different unique ways. But it's also not easy being a musician, I try to learn the guitar one time, but it was just too difficult for me

Guitar kills your fingers! I had to find a song I really liked and just keep playing it until it sounded kinda like the main thing lol
