A Passion For Failure

So by now you may have heard....I'm leaving ClickTrackProfit.

I've dedicated my life since 2011 to this platform and have seen pretty much everything you could imagine over the past decade plus.

Without getting too deep into it, my heart just isn't in it anymore. I know it's in great hands because members of the community are stepping up to take over. And that really feels like mission accomplished for me.

CTP was always about community. And it still is. It's the life blood of the platform, even with all the bells and whistles, success and failures that come along with it's journey....The people have remained. So knowing the community, is still in control, makes me feel like it's a win.

But let's talk about failures.

I'm an entrepreneur. I have been for as long as I can remember. And with that, I've seen plenty of success. I was able to buy 2 homes over my online career. I started many websites that did very well, and heck I even wrote a book about my passion back in 2007.

But the other side of the coin are the failures.

Oh boy. There are plenty. I've had some ideas that I thought would be a huge success, only to fail miserable and never take hold.

Just look at the PayPal experience I had in 2017....My entire livelihood, wiped out on one April morning. The failure in that was putting all my eggs in one basket, even though I knew PayPal had a history of shutting down accounts without recourse. I didn't plan ahead and because of that, I failed at securing my future.

I can't even tell you how many websites I started that completely flopped. It's borderline embarrassing. But for some reason, I've been doing this online business stuff for almost 25 years now.

Why put myself through the misery?

I think it comes down to passion.

And for the past 2 decades plus, my passion...Has been in building online businesses through affiliate marketing. Even with all the failures along the way, I still showed up to work every day, excited to tackle the challenges. And the haters, trust me....If you put yourself out there, have an opinion about anything, people will point the finger at you.

Yup, I even loved that because it kept me on my toes. Helped me get better!

But now I've come to the point in my life where my passions have switched completely.

My passion is here.

On the blockchain!

I have this little voice inside me that keeps saying, this is it! This is where your future will be built. This is something you love and will be able to navigate the ups and downs along the way.

When I wake up in the morning....I'm thinking about this blockchain. When I talk to my friends on web2, I'm thinking about this blockchain. When I'm at home, I love sharing what I'm doing on the blockchain with my family.

This is my passion!

So as I get ready to enter into 2024, my focus changes. I'm embracing the failures of my past, accepting that I'm not perfect but with open arms, welcoming the challenge and the mission.

My mission will be, to earn a living from my passion once again.

Only this time, it's on the blockchain and hopefully adding value to everyone I meet along the way!

Failures are part of your journey. Failures become final when you let them stop you for good. And changing your focus isn't a failure, it's simply being true to yourself and letting your passion drive you towards the future you are dreaming of.

You've got to do what you've got to do sometimes bro. It hurts sometimes to leave things behind, but it's the only way to move forward. I am having to make some tough decisions myself with some of my projects so that I can move forward myself. Glad to see you still focusing on your passions.

Wow it's pretty impressive that you've built a career as an online entrepreneure for 25 years!

I tried one online venture in 2019 and it flopped.

Oh I started back in like 1998-1999....But I didn't make my first penny until about 2003. Believe me lol It's an adventure to figure things out.

I also remember when I first opened a commission (drawing), I was excited because in the first 2 months there were still people who wanted to order from me. But in the next month there were no more (because my drawing was still amateurish).

But a year later I met HIVE and was able to continue my hobby of drawing. Here I can still get earning even though my artwork looks amateurish.

I was about to ask you what happened to veews and CTP projects as I didn't see much news in the community. It's always good to move on when you can't take it anymore where your heart is not. You have made a lot of changes since 2021 if I recall, be it job, ctp and other. Good luck on new projects journey from here onwards. Have a good weekend :)

It's a part of life and at some point, people have to move along. I think you did a great job of running it for so long after the developer left. In any case, it's not like your gone from the blockchain and Rob can always come to you for advice.

Oh that's the plan for sure. CTP is still integrated into CTPX, so I'll be continuing to buy the tokens off the market. Im not going anywhere, just need to get my passion back as a priority!

Who's handling ListNerds now? The site will not work for me. I log on, then nothing works in any menu.
