Nerdy Speak

nerdy speak 02.18.22.png

I've spent the last few weeks letting folks know, how much of a LISTNERDS proponent I am and I have no reservations being a Nerdy Fanatic. I fan boy very few things, but when I do; I take no prisoners. Shit's going down and I'm going to make sure folks know about it.

Here is an odd thing from my personal experience. Folks have told me for many years, that I would make a great salesman. Not my vibe. I hate selling, always have.

Truth be told, at a young age I was working in an electronics store in Manhattan, New York. I was in my very early twenties. Well, I started out as a stock boy and they offered me the opportunity to go up to the floor and sell cameras. Remember those?

Anyway, I was killing it right out the gate. Making great money for that time including spiffs (sort of a bonus if you sold some of their crappier stuff), but I felt filthy internally by the end of the day and couldn't wait to move on from it.

Although, I was making damn good money and doing it at that age; that says a lot of my disdain for it. The owner's selling practices were not on the up and up and being young, what did I know; but my conscience was telling me everything and that had me questioning myself.

Luckily, my cousin helped me get into where he was working a Wall Street job and I spent a few years working for a bonds and stock clearing company not far from the New York Stock Exchange.

Ok, sorry for veering off a bit, but as I always say; when I write it's with the purpose of folks getting to know me. The real me and simultaneously with the post.

So, never wanted to be a salesmen; but always felt comfortable with being a promoter. I was great at organizing get-togethers and having them show up at the hottest bars and clubs in New York, co-workers - wanted to know where I was going to lunch, so it was like an entourage walking Madison Avenue just for a sandwich, and fast forward to today; I'm a HUGE Orangetheory Fitness fanatic and everyone who knows me and in some cases, who don't know me; know I bleed orange.

What's the point, Jimmy?

I could never be a salesperson, because if I had to sell someone on something; then more than likely my heart is not in it.

If my heart is in it, that means I will buy it, promote it, talk about it, scream about it, use it; whether you join me or not.

But today, it's not about me. Well, not only me. 😁

I want to let other's do the talking about ListNerds and I listed five comments that speaks for themselves:

  1. @beststart "I can relate to what you are saying here Jimmy. My first mail was for an affiliate program and the upvotes were very lean. Once I started posting content and mailing notifications about new posts then the whole thing opened up. Imagine, being a marketer who does not sell😂."

  2. @gadrian "I had no idea a few months ago Listnerds will become such a great tool for me on Hive. Great post Jimmy!"

  3. @rcaine "There are several good things about List Nerds being on the Hive blockchain. The obvious is getting rewarded. Who doesn't like getting paid? Engagement with other marketers like yourself is great and another reward. And of course, the advertising which I feel has improved since List Nerds has been added to the Hive."

  4. @achim03 "The combination of Listnerds and Hive is perfect in my eye. The e-mail is here to rise awareness and curiosity and we can deliver the message on our blog post. We don't even need to sell anything. If people just come to our posts and give us some interaction and upvotes we are already winning :-)"

  5. @taskmaster4450le "This is another tool that can have major impact upon our results on Hive. When people look for ways to get noticed, Listnerds is a tool to assist with that. What is great is that one can also get involved with Listnerds and as he or she grows there, more opportunities open up to feed into their Hive content."

Those are just five of the many comments that I found either on my posts or on other's posts.

Ok, so going back to me for a second; only because it's important to show numbers:

Recent LN Numbers.png

It's been very consistent for me and I'm sure for many others, but my open rate, clicks, click through rate, upvote consistency to help me reach verification for earnings has been more than satisfactory.

So most of what you see in red as No, I already reached the 20+ threshold to earn tokens for that mail. Those earnings will kick in a few days.

Taking into consideration, that my current mission has shifted to CTP/HIVE community building and influential marketing opposed to my wanting to grow my downlines and lists. I will get back to that soon, as I continue to tweak my off-chain marketing; so I can bring more folks to ListNerds and subsequently - HIVE!

LISTNERD DIVIDER.png

I do want to recommend that you check out someone who has crushed it by creating a LISTNERDS NEWBIES GUIDE and the reason for that is, because @thisismylife did not join ListNerds because they are an affiliate marketer or want to be one, but still has been benefiting and earning from the platform and showing others how to do the same.

It's like me not being a gamer, but still earning from Splinterlands:

The more you write about it, the more it just drives home: game changer.

Like we keep mentioning, no need to sell anything or do list building or any of that stuff. Simply send out an email of a post and let the basics of Hive take over.

Anyone sending out a Leofinance post will likely get an upvote from me if it ends up in my inbox.

Great post Jimmy. This whole concept of not selling is still somewhat alien to me but I do realize that I now LOVE what I do online.

Think about how we are in normal day-to-day life, we don't walk up to strangers and shout at them "BUY MY STUFF!" ;)

I am with you. I hate sales too. I especially don't like phone sales.
E mail marketing feels different to me.
Hard sales has never attracted me.
Thanks for the post

I have to agree. ListNerds is changing the game and I avoid any of the MLM stuff like the plague. So I think ListNerds to promote posts works out way better.

@jfang003 and whatever a person is marketing, promoting, selling - should be with engaging and informative posts and not at the email.

It's flipping a lot of traditional marketing ideas on it's head...I mean, Task said it best in a recent podcast....ListNerds's process, has become the product.

Meaning what you promote and if you get results from that, are a massive bonus. But you are winning by just being active in the system first and foremost. It's kind of crazy lol

Like you, I have been told I am a great salesman and that was never what I wanted to be. Funny thing is, the only job I was ever fired from involved selling bicycles. I was fired for selling too many and making too much commission. The owner thought it must be easy and replaced me with an hourly employee. He called me 6-8 weeks later and wanted me to come back. The funny thing was I never tried to sell a bike. I just explained to people what to look for when buying a bike.

@rcaine - dude! Write an article about that experience. I’m sure some HIVERS would be able to relate and the CTP Swarm would love it too 🤓👍🏽

You got another upvote from me on your ListNerds mail :)

Honestly... I don't have any problem with sales or selling. I have a problem with bad sales.

Screaming (whether verbally or via text/video) about your offer is just not a good way to sell.

Consultative selling is awesome though. You start with the person you're talking to in mind... you start with their goals and what they need... and then you just connect them to the solution that helps them get wherever they want to go.

ListNerds is just making it much clearer how people want to be sold to. I will do business with people I believe can actually help me... and the best way to get me to believe that you can help me... is by actually helping me first! lol

This is why leading with valuable content is so powerful... it's the Ol' Convince them you can help them by actually helping them maneuver.

Great stuff - always glad to see you in my ListNerds inbox :)

A good read. It is interesting to find out more about people's backgrounds. I also like the latest innovation on your part: collating people's comments from your recent posts. Excellent idea. Upovted on Listnerds. 100% upvoted on PeakD. Reblogged.

Thanks for the mention Jimmy! I feel your passion when you talk about Listnerds and I feel the same way. And I agree with you, I would never talk about something this way if my purpose was to sell it.

Wonderful post. Sucks that your first real sales experience in NYC was for someone who wasn't entirely ethical. I relish posting on hive because everything here is #transparent. No shady-ass marketers coming along and bragging about how much Hive they have. :D
