Here's my entry for BeerSaturday 313 with this rousse, Irish Red, brewed by Montreal-based microbrewery Beauregard. I was intrigued by the mention of Rousse à l'azote (Nitrogen Red) when I was looking at the different beers offered in my favorite beer store Lejeune & frères (also in Montreal).

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 313 avec cette rousse, Irish Red, brassée par la microbrasserie Beauregard qui se trouve à Montréal. J'ai été intriguée par la mention Rousse à l'azote lorsque je regardais les différentes bières proposées dans mon magasin de bières préféré Lejeune & frères (aussi à Montréal).

The Beauregard microbrewery was founded in 2018 by two brothers Jonathan and Sébastien Coutu in Montreal specializing in dark beers (stout and porter), with the aim of making as many people as possible appreciate this type of beer. And this is the first time I've heard of this brewery, even though I love a Guinness every now and then. I have a feeling I'll be tasting several of their beers 😀.

La microbrasserie Beauregard a été fondée en 2018 par deux frères Jonathan et Sébastien Coutu à Montréal se spécialisant dans les bières noires, stout et porter, dans le but de faire apprécier au plus grand nombre ce type de bière. Et c'est la première fois que j'entends parler de cette brasserie malgré que j'adore une Guinness de temps en temps. Je sens que je vais gouter plusieurs de leur bière.

" Operating in a small niche, it forces us to have really top notch quality. If we released one or two weaker products, it would affect our reputation. There aren't enough dark beers sold in Quebec to make it a specialty and do it badly."

« Opérer dans une petite niche, ça nous force à avoir une qualité vraiment top notch. Si on sortait un ou deux produits plus faibles, ça affecterait notre réputation. Il ne se vend pas assez de bières noires au Québec pour en faire une spécialité et le faire mal. »

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The Irish Red was launched this year for Saint Patrick's Day, a light, nitrogen-packed ale with 4.4% alcohol. In the glass, the color is quite dark for a red ale. Unfortunately, I think my can had been poorly sealed as it was flat 😥, with almost no foam as you can see from the photos. And normally with nitrogen, you get a nice creamy head. And the beer tasted poorly too. Too bad, I'll have to go and buy another can. Because this beer looks interesting to me, as do others like Porter.

La Irish Red a été lancée cette année pour la Saint Patrick, une ale légère conditionnée à l’azote avec 4.4% d'alcool. Dans le verre, on a une robe assez sombre pour une red ale. Malheureusement, je pense que ma canette avait été mal scellée car elle était flat, presque aucune mousse comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos. Et normalement avec l'azote, on obtient une belle mousse crémeuse. Et au gout, aussi la bière était passée. Dommage, je vais devoir aller racheter une autre canette. Car cette bière me semble intéressante ainsi que d'autres comme la Porter.

Design

The design of the Beauregard cans is based on the same principle, with this stylized B in one color against a plain background. For this Irish-inspired redhead, the color palette is perfect.

Le design des canettes de Beauregard se base sur le même principe avec ce B stylisé d'une couleur avec un fond uni. Pour cette rousse d'inspiration irlandaise, la palette de couleur choisie est parfaite.
