Tour De YucanáRoo

What a stunning sunset in Playa del Carmen.
I'm mesmerised by the sunsets in QRoo.
As you read the title, of course, you are right. YucanáRoo does not exist, and I simply invented it. The idea behind it comes from the creation of the newest territory, Quintana Roo, and its history.
But QRoo is the abbreviation of Quintana Roo.

What happened back then?
During General Porfirio Díaz's presidency of Mexico, known as the Porfiriato, in 1902, the federal territory that is now Quintana Roo was formed by dividing the state of Yucatán once again. That's the shortest description I can do what
I learned from our travels and researches.
In more words;
Mayab was the name of this region before the Spaniards arrived in the Yucatán Peninsula. And in the Yucatec Maya language, mayab means “flat”, and is the source of the word “Maya” itself.
What is now Mérida, was once Ichcaanzihóo (also called Ti'ho), and like the other Mayan cities Chichen Itza, Izamal, Motul, Mayapan and Ek'Balam were all constructed by Mayans during the peninsula's heydey.

The Yucatán peninsula was unified politically and administratively into the Captaincy General of Yucatán following the conquest of the region by the Spanish (in the 1600s to the 1700s). The local governor declared independence after Mexico gained its freedom in 1821. In December 1821, Yucatán was annexed by the Mexican Empire. Once the first Mexican Empire fell in March 1823, the newly formed Republic of Yucatán freely negotiated accession to the Federal Republic of the United Mexican States on December 21, 1823. The republic had been founded in May of that year. Yucatán proclaimed its independence from Mexico on March 16, 1841, due to cultural and political disputes surrounding the federal accord. Creating an additional Yucatán Republic. Forcibly rejoined to Mexico, Yucatán finally happened on July 14, 1848. The first division of the state of Yucatán occurred in 1858, smack-dab in the midst of the Caste War of Yucatán. This division officially established Campeche as its own state in 1863.

The actual post is about my tour through these two territories. I prepared you already with the one previous post about my Mexican Path. That's the second time I've done it.

The first time was in 2022 with my love Lluna and my friend Hendrik.
That's also the time I first came across Hive and joined. Thanks to @misslasvegas 🙏🏽😌

Little detour about my encounter with Hive;
My progress on the blockchain is OK, slowly but steady. The best part for me is to meet people. And I have already met many good and amazing people on the blockchain and at the @hivefest 2022, together with some meetups via @buzzparty, @hivebeecon and other opportunities. Moreover, I develop my writing and posting skills by doing and learning from other bloggers. Plus having an online diary which I can share with friends and the world, and participate on a great blockchain and platform with many fantastic features, ideas, and an ass full of information.
It's a great way of investment. Putting Time & Energy in form of participating, posting, curating and spreading the word of Hive, and get rewarded.
Another investment is putting some mana into HBD.

While I was studying Hive in the background, I explored QRoo and Yucatán and didn't expect to find one of the New Wonders of the world, Chichén Itzá. Besides, many other wonders located in these two areas.

Personal fun fact;
I was in México in 2022 and now, while writing this post, in 2024, and joined HiveFest⁷ in Amsterdam in 2023. But wasn't participating in HiveFest⁸ in 2023 which took place in México.
Especially since my sacred number is 8.
Makes me wonder… 😌

So long since I've been in Mexico. If you like snorkelling, try Xel-Ha. A bit for the tourist, but the marine life is amazing. Have fun! !BEER
