Who am I?

Greetings to my viewers and welcome to my blog. My name is Gratitude Okereke, I am a medical student schooling in the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka which is located in Enugu state. I am semi-introverted but my friends regard me as an extrovert, I am quite versatile being a graphic designer as well as an editor and a chef.

I regard myself as one of the greatest chefs, lol. Sometime last year my faculty organised a cooking competition, I indicated interest and came out as the 2nd best cook in the whole faculty, I attributed it to my culinary skills but my friends said its because we were only 3 that contested hehe.

What do I like?

I have interest in literature and entertainment but in addition to that,
I love playing board games, especially chess.
Not only do I play chess, I volunteer as a chess tutor to orphanages and homes of the needy, where I teach less privileged children about the game of chess.

I also like playing volleyball where I am a defensive player but seeing the glory that comes with spiking usually forces me to attack which I am not very good at, lol.

I also play snooker and table tennis in my free time.

I love teaching too, I have volunteered under many organisations and also as an individual to teach the younger classes in med school.

When qualified/eligible, I also donate blood to patients that need it.

Picture was taken after my first blood donation, I was initially scared but knowing the theory of blood transfusion, I calmed myself and went ahead to do it and it was worth it in the end.

One of my major motivations to donate is the joy and relief I see on patients faces and also that of their relatives added to the impact which I know my blood will have in their healing process.

I only donate fresh blood for now, except my orientation changes later on in life. Besides donating, I also encourage other healthy individuals to donate, teaching them the importance of blood donation.

I derive joy in volunteering for free medical outreaches where we offer medical care free of charge to communities

I have a love for music, which is not restricted to any genre, I like good music.
My love for music prompted me to learn keyboard and acoustic guitar but I couldn't really perfect any of them.

What I Dislike?

Among some other things, procrastination tops my list. I hate procrastination, even though I find myself doing it more times than I would want to.

For example, this introduction was planned for yesterday, but here I am ;)
I saw a post last night here which reminded me that I hate bed bugs, so yeah, I have to add it now.

Expectations From Hive

I hope to learn a lot from hive, the communities & people herein and to also unlock myself and find expression here.

I also hope to interact with as many people as possible and maybe make a few acquaintances and friends from this place, who knows? I would also add value and drop useful information as much as I can.

I heard about Hive from my friend @sperosamuel15 whose guidance has been immensely helpful.
