Farming Blog Post: The Time When I Visited Our Neighbor's Farm

It was a great day for me during my Farm visitation at our Neighbor's Farm place. We have new neighbor here in Zone and they came from Iligan City. They brought a hectare of land here so that they can put a simple Farm to keep themselves busy and have a business for the Family. It was 8 In the morning when I started to walked going to our neighbor's farm place and I was very excited that day. Their farm is private and it surrounded with fences made of bamboos and few dogs barking when other people passes by. Before I entered the place, I asked a permission first to the land owner and I am very thankful for granting my wish to make a blog at their place.

The land owner is very kind because He take to different parts of the place inside of the Farm. First, He take me in this areas were chickens and roosters can be seen. This is a big chicken cage and it is estimated at about 50 chickens can fit inside of this place. The cage is made up of bamboo pieces and screen so that harmful animals like rats and wild cats can't entering the structures. There was only few chickens in the cage and others of it are not still yet arrived brought from Iligan City. He also recycled empty galloons were the feeds will place.

The farm is also accessible with this road and it will be very easy to all different kinds of vehicles just like cargo trucks passing in here. Those coconuts they sell will placed near at the road so that it will be very easy to gathered and hauling to the trucks and to be transported to other place. This road is located inside of the farm and it surrounded with coconut trees and some fruit trees just like Jackfruits.

Not only crops can be seen here but also ornamental plants owned by Land owner's wife. Many kinds of ornamental plants like Orchids, Aglaonemas, Denrows, Roses and and hanging plants. They installed this black nets so that it wont be damage by the rain or winds. It also helps to prevent directly in the intense heat brought by the sunlight. It keeps the place attractive and colorful because of the flowers and other ornamental plants.

Fruit trees like jackfruits can also be seen here. In fact there are many times when the land owner sell those fruits to the super market at the right prices per kilo. They decided to wrapped with an empty sack so that the fruits wont be damage by insects just like wasps. It will only removed Those sacks soon as it will be ready for harvest. The jackfruit trees are marcotted and it will be very easy to get those fruits when it is ready for harvesting.

There are some dwarf coconut trees planted in the place just like this one. It already produced buko fruits and it will be harvested for the next month as the land owner says. They decided to plant few dwarf coconuts so that it will be very easy to get buko fruits.

This are some of the structures and chicken cage here at our neighbor's farm. It is also made of bamboos and also they installed a small and unique structure were the gallons of water can be placed. This will used for giving those farm raising animals like chickens a water.

They also raised Rabbits and geese. Here in our place we called the geese by its local name called, Gangsa. They make a pond so that this animals will be enjoyed splashing at the water. This kind of animals loves water that is why it important to make even a simple pond. I really amazed of the rabbits I seen during my visits and it contains lots if different kinds of colors and sizes. They also sell this rabbits at a prize of 350 Pesos each. Rabbits will not be butchered because it is against the Law, some people brought rabbits to be their pets at home.
