My Service to my Fatherland Story - My First Days In Camp At Wailo

(Edited)

Immediately we touch down Wailo camp we were happy and same time very tired thanking God after 2 days journey we reach bauchi state safe and sound. Smile filled our face as we began to off load our boxes. We were welcome being assisted in carrying our bags by those little children around thinking it was free. My brothers and sister you have to pay 150 for that load they're helping you to carry, nothing is free lol.

Our next task was to get registered by the administrators. We were stretched on queue checking papers if correct and checking our bags for the unwanted. The interesting part was the covid 19 test. After the test water must fall from your eyes or your brain will be reset. Very terrible 😂
So long after the test the gate was open we were amazed everything was well planned and well arranged.

Straight up to our hostel not to our expectations. But that's why we're in camp to experience life our hostel was long and big. It made to contain 100 members inside, I just quickly rush Down to a close window space because the beds were up and down you just have a bunk mate. Well selected before more members will come. After all settings we begin to take a walk checking everywhere, went to maimi Market to check and buy things out at the same time making new friends telling us their experience, sharing stories and making laughter while we merry. Unknowing to us by 10PM is lights out. The next thing was army everywhere back to rooms everybody so we went back to room to play more.

Everybody slept back (who you Wan wake by that time when men sleep around 1-2am 😂) the next thing we received was unexpected about 6 Army surrounded our hostel 😂 (PAPA YOU'RE STILL SLEEPING BAA) Everybody jump from bed outside the first day sleeping in camp we were use for frog jump down to the field. Oh my Goodness. Everybody was exhausted immediately we got to the field drilling took place base on OTONDO wey we be and was shared into different Platoon. Luckily I was in platoon 4 by God so doing I was the DOS (Director of Social) and as well Flag Bearer. I will have to stand by the Nigeria flag exactly 6:AM waiting for bugler 🎺 6AM and 6PM I shall be there.

Camp was coming to an end I started missing a lot of people despite the short period of time, I made a lot of friends as the DOS till date if you ask some what's my name they will reply DOS 😂. All my Hausa, Igbo, Akwa-ibom and many more I miss them all. But unfortunately I had to work my way to Rivers state I could stay in bauchi state. In Rivers state I entered another phase of life.
