Summer time!

And that means that our Lady-boss will take the long walk with us early in the morning. It is nice for us to be outside in the heat during the day, but it is not nice for us to have to take a strenuous walk. With hot days like we have now, we are happy during the day if we can just hang out outside, play a bit of dog pranks. Eat some plants here and there. Yes, sorry, we don't always know what we're allowed to eat, and what not.

You got those bushes, or how do you people woof that? Well, those things then, where those red things grow. And they are delicious! I'll just sweep it off the bushes. Delicious! And those other red things, they're a little bigger, you woof that strawberry I seem to remember. Well, they are also very tasty. Only boss and lady-boss have set it a little too high. I can't reach that myself. Would that be on purpose, I wonder?

Then there are apples and plums, I also heard them wooing each other about grapes. I don't know yet if I like them because they are not ready yet, boss said. But I'm barking too much again. I'll be back there later.

First we went for a walk!

And because the weather is getting warm, Lady-boss has done her best for me to find water again. We couldn't go to the Maashorst. Boss of course has the car with him to work, so we had to search for a while. But Lady-boss was sure that we should also have beautiful water around here. She's been there once before. Then she found it by pure chance, but yes ... really, that Lady-boss of ours, she's a special one. She has abso-woof-ly no sense of direction!

I have to watch her everywhere to make sure she doesn't run in the wrong direction. Then she complains that I pull too hard on the leash, but yes. Hey, a dog needs something to keep his Lady-boss on the right track! Because I find a lot of excitement, I am not always allowed to run loose. It could just happen that I run after a cyclist I don't like. I swear to you, I'm not an aggressive dog, but if they look straight at me and slow down, I just don't trust it. And yes, I want to woof them that too. So Lady-boss will only let me run loose and play when we have 'the realm' to ourselves. She also constantly monitors the environment. But most of the time I walk neatly on a leash. Well, so Lady-boss thinks I'm pulling too hard, and I think I'm doing it very nicely by keeping her on the right track. So we differ on that. That's the only thing. Besides that little thing, we woof along just fine. Lady-boss tells me what we're looking for, and I find it.

Today I was allowed to run loose a bit on the way to the water. But I had to concentrate on my ball. That's a trick of Lady-boss to make me pay attention to her and not to my surroundings. Stupid me, I know what she does with that. But I still fall for it every time. If I have to concentrate on my ball, I don't have time to also pay attention to the surroundings. Lady-boss always woofs very nice at me. "Hold on, Kippie." Yes, now I hear you laughing. She calls me, a beautiful German Shepherd, Kippie! Do you know what Kippie means? No? Kip is the Dutch word for Chicken! (Don't woof it to Lady-boss, I like it!)

Anyway, while carrying the ball, focusing on my ball, watching Lady-boss not to run in the wrong direction, it got warmer. And so I was just glad she listened to me after all. She had walked in the right direction and so I could finally take that cooling splash.

I splashed and barked, played with my ball, then of course I had to woof Lady-boss home. So I've finished my morning exercise, and it's time for me to rest for a while, and enjoy some treats from our garden!
