[EN/PT] Duel of Dodging Giants!
[EN]
Hello, Splinters Fanatics!
The magic of Splinterlands is that no match will be the same as the last, and the infinite number of cards, abilities and rules make the game totally dynamic. Every choice is important and must be based on the conditions of a battle. Usually, we choose strong monsters and summoners that can add even more combat power, this is a thought to maximize combat power.
There are countless battle strategies, some focused on increasing the firepower of allied monsters, others on weakening enemy power, others based on healing and armor repair, but the ones I like the most are those focused on speed and deflecting attacks.
Sometimes you don't need that much speed, but there are some skills that make monsters with them more likely to dodge. Among these are the Flying, Blind and Dogde abilities, each of which has its own peculiarities.
The monster that has this ability has a greater chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from monsters that don't have the Flying ability. Specifically, a 25% chance of evasion compared to a non-flying monster. |
All enemy melee and ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their target, at 15% evasion. |
You have an increased chance of dodging melee or ranged attacks, by 25%. |
The great magic is combining these skills, because these dodging probabilities are cumulative. For example, if a monster has the ability Flying and Dogde we choose a monster or summoner that grants the ability Blind, the evasion rate of that monster will be (25% + 25% + 15%) = 65%. This is the case with the monster PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS combined with the summoner LIR DEEPSWMMER.
All of these techniques are for dodging Melee or Ranged damage, but none of them apply to magic damage, which is completely unharmed by these dodging possibilities. But using monsters with the ability Phase can solve this problem, and adding dodging abilities means that the monster can get rid of all types of damage.
In today's post we'll show you some of these abilities in action. It's nice when we see our monsters dodging attacks, but it's not nice when the opponent's monsters dodge too much.
Two monsters I really like that have the Dodge and Phase abilities are COEURL LURKER and CHAOS AGENT, while one is a legendary monster the other is a common monster that has many things in common.
Another situation in which I like to choose this monster is when the Spreading Fury ruleset is present, because when the monsters take damage they have a chance to go berserk and become even faster.
To work on a speed strategy, focusing on dodging, which is the case with these two monsters, the ideal is to add monsters and summoners that increase speed even more, such as the summoner CONQUEROR JACEK, which increases it by (+2).
In the battle presented in today's post, we will have these monsters in the battle. However, the Splinter chosen does not favor speed, as it is the slowest Splinter in all of Splinterlands. Check it out!
Next up was a battle in the Modern format, which has a fair amount of mana available. And the ruleset was Spreading Fury and Are You Not Entertained, attracted by the possibility of bringing a Gladiator onto the battlefield I chose Splinter Terra.

At first, I thought I would be defeated, because the opponent chose the Gladiator KATRELBA GOBSON, who has a double attack and the ability Sneak. And my rear units have low health and this gladiator is very offensive.
Who saved this battle was CHAOS AGENT, who with her speed and Dodge and Dispel skills, as well as dodging, dealt damage to her opponent. That's why KATRELBA GOBSON was defeated with two missed attacks.
Some points to note:
- All monsters on the field have the ability Enrage. In terms of speed, this rule directly interferes with monsters, because once a monster that already has a large amount of speed is hit, it is almost impossible to hit it. With this in mind, the opponent should have chosen COEURL LURKER as the main tank, as it has high speed and dodging abilities.
- I chose QUORA as my Gladiator because of the rule that grants the Enrage skill. It increases her speed and melee damage, which makes her a real monster. Even so, it was difficult to defeat COEURL LURKER due to her dodging abilities.
- The dodging skills work best at high speed, but even with a slow Splinter it was possible to see the Dodge skills working very well, both for CHAOS AGENT and COEURL LURKER.

É o caso do monstro PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS combinado com o invocador LIR DEEPSWMMER.

Alguns pontos a serem observados:
