Breaking the Coffee Curse with self-belief

Kene is the man after my heart, I met him in 2020 while I was traveling to school to get my certificate. We sat next to each other Kene on the bus that I boarded. He's tall average height and light skinned with nice sets of teeth, his appearance was giving everything to me. He's that spec I've longed for and sitting next to him was like a dream come through.

So I was careful to utilize that opportunity that day and become friends with him if possible. When he started a conversation I was really interested, and I gave him all my girly green light plus the, "I like you" signals.

He probably felt the same way because it didn't take us time to bond and everyone thought we were a new couple. After weeks of talking, we started dating within that short period.

The day he made it official he was like, "Babe, eaveryone thinks we are a couple, so let's make it happen"

"Will you marry me?" Ken said smiling

"Yes," I accepted immediately and that was how our love story began.

One year down the line, he introduced me to his family via phone calls. I spoke to his parents and the only sister that he had.

Before then my mum already know him as she's my gossip mate.

Everything was fine but Kene had one problem which I've complained about but he seems not to see it as something he need to change.

He doesn't gift me anything until I ask for it even for my birthdays. He knows my love language is Gifting and Words of affirmation but he is not making an effort to understand me.

"For God's sake, I'm a woman, sometimes I need words of affirmation and gift to feel loved, " I would scream into his ears.

"We are done. I am calling off the engagement," I said angrily as I storm out of the room one day.

Since I called the relationship, he threatened to put an end to the coffee rituals that I do daily.

"I know you are everything but not a magician and you can't stop me from having my coffee, " I said over the jammed door

For over a decade, it has been my ritual to take coffee before I kickstart my day and I can't skip for any reason. I got so used to it that if I tried to stop I feel sick. So anyone trying to stop me would be trying to take my life.

I thought Ken was joking until the next morning when I wanted to drink my coffee, it stopped flowing. I tried all I could but I couldn't sip the coffee from the cup.

I remembered Kene's words but waved it off as mind tricks. I was sure that Kene can't do such a thing.

I called Annabelle, my best friend, and explained everything to her. She promised to come straight to my house while coming back from work.

"Friend, we need to go spiritual, Kene must have done something", Anabelle said trying to hold her chin in a thoughtful gesture.

"How?", I asked for closure.

" I know a woman who is knowledge about charms and remedies and she will help us", She reassured me.

We set out to visit Elare, but it wasn't an easy task, because she lived miles away in a small town that isn't developed yet. Without Google Map to guide us, we had to travel on an old-fashioned map and our instincts.

As we made our way out of the city, the busy streets slowly gave way to narrow winding roads. The tall buildings disappeared, replaced by vast open fields and a quiet environment. I felt a sense of vulnerability I had never experienced before.

Being so far away from the familiar sights and sounds of the city, we encountered lots of trials on our way due to the rough road. We had a flat tire that delayed the journey but we held our grounds. I became afraid but Annabelle assured me all will be well.

As night fell, we found ourselves lost in the maze of trees. I was beginning to panic, in the darkness, everything looked the same, and our phones had no signal to call for help.

Just as we were about to give up hope, a faint glow caught our eyes. We followed the light and we discovered a humble cave. It stood at the center of the clearing, adorned with mystical symbols and glowing crystals. Our hearts soared with relief as we realized we'd finally found Elara's place.

Elara welcomed us with warmth but I passed out before the pleasantries were done being exchanged. Elara took me to a warm room and left me there to rest.

Anabelle shared my story, and Elara listened intently. She reassured her that the curses could be undone with the right counter-spell and a sprinkle of belief in myself.

Elara said to break the curse and solve my problem, I needed to gather three simple yet magical substance that were accessible within me; a feather of hope, a drop of serenity, and a leaf of growth

I realized all I needed was to deal with my own thoughts. The fears that I allowed to envelop me when I heard those words slip from Kene's lip needed to be traded for hope, serenity, and growth. My limiting beliefs needed to go.

When I got home and chanted those heartfelt affirmations, I felt the energy in my room shift. A sense of calm enveloped me as I believed in the power of the ritual.

To my amazement, the next morning, as I reached for my well-brewed coffee, it flowed smoothly into her mouth, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. The curse was broken!

Just take a look at devious little Kene. Glad your character got that sorted out. Imagine not being able to start your day because of the grievances of a jilted spouse.
Nice entry @edystringz 🌺
