Tsunami affects Brazilian coast

It is not new that climate conditions are affecting Brazil, which has continental dimensions (it is as big as the smallest continent).
Around here, we are about to celebrate the day the country became a republic. We already had a King, for those who don't know, the same King of Portugal.
The end of the monarchy is celebrated with a national holiday, and as in the southern hemisphere it is almost summer, let's take the opportunity to take a walk along the coast of Santa Catarina.
It was with great sadness that we received the news that what the local population called a tsunami occurred yesterday in the city of Laguna, state of Santa Catarina.

With due respect and solidarity to the Asian population, the phenomenon that occurred here was of smaller proportions and was not gigantic.
The local media talks about meteorological tsunami, an event that is difficult to predict. The population took amateur images of the event, but I do not have the right to reproduce them here.

The south of Brazil has been hit by heavy rains that have left thousands of people homeless. Plantations have been hit and a drop in food production is expected.
The atypical weather has affected the entire population, and in the state of Sao Paulo, storms damaged the electricity grid, leaving some urban areas without power for five days.
Our sincerest wishes for better days ahead for those affected by natural disasters.

Não é de hoje que as condições climáticas estão afetando o Brasil, que tem dimensoes continentais (é tão grande quanto o menor continente).
Pelas bandas de cá, estamos prestes a comemorar o dia em que o pais se tornou uma república. Já tivemos Rei, aos que nao sabem, o mesmo Rei de Portugal.
O fim da monarquia é comemorado com feriado nacional, e como no hemisfério sul estamos no quase verão, vamos aproveitar para fazer um passeio pelo litoral de Santa Catarina.
Com muita tristesa recebemos a noticia que daquilo que a população local chamou de tsunami, ocorrido no dia de ontem, na cidade de Laguna, estado de Santa Catarina.

Com o devido respeito e solidariedade à população asiática, o fenômeno ocorrido aqui foi de menores proporções e não teve onde gigantescas.
A midia local fala em tsunami meteorológico, evento se difícil previsão. A populacao fez imagens amadoras do evento, porem não tenho direito de reproduzi-las aqui.

O sul do Brasil tem sido atingido por muitas chuvas que ja deixaram milhares de pessoas desabrigadas. As plantações foram atingidas e espera-se uma queda na produção de alimentos.
O clima atípico tem afetado toda a população, sendo que no estado de Sao Paulo as tempestades danificaram rede elétrica deixando alguns locais urbanos sem energia por cinco dias.

Complicado mano esses acontecimentos, a força da natureza somada com a imprudência do homem de achar que é imortal e pode fazer de tudo tem serias consequências. Só podemos fazer a nossa parte e rezar para que essas coisas aconteçam com menos frequencia.
