Sunday Reflections: social clipping

My always friends #freecompliments

As you already know, I was traveling for a few days, totaling a 10-day absence from my home. The return has already happened, and we are fine.

We generally tend to praise the good things we experience. This is easy to understand when you think that you hope to choose the best photo to post on your social network.

That's not wrong, don't get me wrong. It is part of our nature to try to show our best. So sometimes we voluntarily forget to tell parts of the stories. We cut out parts of the photos that we didn't like. We hide what embarrasses us or what has no social value.

A very big problem is the cutting out of fractions of moments, made static through a photograph. We all improve our smile for photo time, don't we? We all think about having good posture, and looking good and happy.

And in the same way that we select and show our "best moments", we have to understand that others are also selecting and showing their best. I suggest calling this "social clipping".

I can tell you about a very interesting scene, as it happened to me a few days ago. When we were in Buenos Aires, we chose to visit some parks nearby. We expected to find trees, nature, shade, birds. But on the contrary, what we saw was very different. Interestingly, the parks were fenced. In Brazil, public parks do not have walls or fences, we found it very strange, so much so that we chose not to enter several of these places.

But when taking the photo, we chose an angle that would only show what we value most. This is the "social clipping".

So when you go to see other people's social networks, think about this... that what was shown was cropped to show only the best.

May this reflection be inspiring for us all to remain motivated to make 2024 a wonderful and fair year for everyone!

Meus sempre amigos #freecompliments

This is just the truth, everybody loves to share their best moment with the world, which is why we shouldn't let what we see in the media pressure us.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring piece, hey dreemer, I popped in from Dreemlort because I am an awesome #dreemerforlife

Moments. Social media makes it easier for people to share what they just want people to see or know. This is why we shouldn't be misled by what we see on the media because it is never the full story.

Hello dearest fashionable dreemer. A new day is here! It's an amazing and sunny day to start the week. I hope you are ready for everything that Monday has to offer with that sweet smile of yours. Don't forget to spread your wings of love wide because the world needs it. I waltzed in from #dreemport, for I am an amazing #dreemer. An awesomely made #dreemerforlife.

I think everyone is guilty of this. We all want to look our best and when there are some anomalies that could expose what we don't want, we crop it. I don't expect anyone to make a picture in an untidy apartment and not change the background before posting on social media.

My opinion has always been never to believe all I see on social media. Many are not real. Besides why show off on social media. It's not compulsory that every fun activity one engaged in with friends or family members must be posted on social media. we just have to be social media smart and live quietly.
