Mundane Life | Simple Father's Day Celebration For My Husband

I wanted to put up this post yesterday (Sunday, 18 June) but I was so exhausted I just didn't have the energy to think let alone trying to write a post.

Yesterday the world was celebrating Father's Day. I hope everyone managed to celebrate it with their family though I know not everyone has the privilege to celebrate it with their dad.

Several days ago, I wrote a post as a tribute to my late father: A Tribute To My Dad Who Passed Away 23 Years Ago

That post was my entry to Ladies of HIVE weekly contest. My dad passed away more than two decades ago and it was a great experience remembering him while I wrote that post.

We also had a simple Father's Day celebration for my husband. We didn't plan anything special other than having a special dinner at a newly opened Japanese restaurant near our apartment.

Happy Father's Day to this amazing dad! ❤️🥂🍻

As part of my appreciation to him, I made a Facebook reel using a selection of photographs of him with the kids throughout the years. Here are a couple of pictures of him and the kids when they were younger.

My daughter was a toddler when this photo was taken. A long time ago.

And my son was about 4 years old here. The photo was taken during a marathon event. He was too tired to finish the 3KM walk so the dad had to carry him. No, we didn't have strollers.

Since yesterday was a Sunday, it was also my hubby's turn to lead worship during the church service. He has been serving as a worship leader for many years and never got tired of serving. Not many people know this side of him. Not his siblings or family members, or work colleagues. He just quietly volunteers to serve when there is a need in the church.

Some of the food we ordered during the Father's Day luncheon. My kids love Japanese food so naturally, they were the happiest when the food was served.

My son had his favorite onigiri or the "triangle sushi". I like onigiri too and one is enough to make you feel full but my son had two. My kids are skinny but they do have big appetite sometimes.

So that was how we celebrate the Father's Day. Nothing fancy just a simple time with family. It was rather a tiring weekend because we spent Saturday morning at the optical shop and on Sunday, went to church followed by Father's Day lunch and other family stuff I didn't write about here.

That's it for now. If you read this far, thank you. I appreciate it so much! Kindly give me a follow if you like my content. I mostly write about making art, life musing, and our mundane yet charming family life here in Klang Valley, Malaysia.

Note: All images used belong to me unless stated otherwise.

Thank you for visiting and reading my post. I hope you like it!
