CineTV COMMUNITY NEWSPAPER | #11

Welcome to this week's new CineTV Community Newspaper. I hope you all have a great weekend, and if you celebrate Easter that you enjoy it to the fullest with your family or friends. If you have a day off tomorrow, maybe tonight is an extra opportunity to enjoy a snack, a drink and a movie or series?

Or it's an opportunity where you finally have some extra time to dive into one of the many writing prompts that our social media manager @thisismylife posts on twitter almost every day. Are you already following our twitter?

Some of this week's writing prompts;

  • Extraterrestrials
  • Easter Holiday Movie Tips
  • Your Jurassic Favorite

If you're lacking inspiration right now, you can always surf to our twitter, and let your mouse wheel work. If you take the time to scroll you will find many more. And since these writing prompts are purely meant to give you some inspiration, you can always use them. Also if the prompt was posted a while ago. Any prompt is always usable. We'd love to see you do that!

The current contest is open for entry, this week's topic is Your favorite SCARY movie, and you have until April 20, 2022. Read the rules before you participate, and don't forget to post your entry in the comments on the announcement post! If you haven't entered yet, here's your chance to do so! Did I mention that you have a good chance of winning CINE tokens?

As every week we have increased activity on our CineTV blog. And I think we've said it before, but THANK YOU for all the great blogs you post through our frontend.

We'd like to get more engagement with the blogs written from our frontend and one of the ways we can try to do that is by listing a few highlights from this week below. If you haven't read them yet, give it a try, and be surprised with these blogs. We're sure the authors love some well-thought-out comments on their blogs.

Just a little note, there are so many awesome reviews to read that we can not highlight them all. If your post isn't in the highlighted selection, it doesn't mean your post isn't awesome!

And another little note. We would love to read your personal stories. Why is that one movie or series so special to you? What impact has it had on you? Did a movie or series change your mind about certain things? Just to name a few examples.

FANTASTIC BEASTS | THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE

In this movie we see a lot of familiar names from the Harry Potter series. In this new movie we're going to watch the story from Professor Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald. We will see old and new beasts. And a battle between good and evil.

CHARIOT

A dark and twisted thriller, with John Malkovitch starring as an odd, eccentric specialist who guides unknowing patients through the reincarnation transition.

THIRTEEN LIVES

A rescue mission is assembled in Thailand where a group of young boys and their soccer coach are trapped in a system of underground caves that are flooding.

MOVIE & CELEBRITY GOSSIPS

  • The filming of Batgirl has started in Scotland with Leslie Grace in the role of Batgirl. For the time being, the script is being kept secret, although it is already known that a lot of action is to be expected in the film. The name of Michelle Keaton was added to the cast in late 2021, Warner Bros. announced. Furthermore, J.K. Simmons and Brendan Fraser appear in the film. And a fun fact about this movie is that the announcement was made way back in March 2017. Among other things, because The Avengers director Josh Whedon withdrew, it seemed for a long time that the film would never see the light of day.

  • The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and anyone who cares about Reese Witherspoon will probably appreciate her daughter, Ava Phillipe, too. At least this 22 year old knows how to play the cameras. Her mother probably gave her some lessons.

  • After Glee actor Darren Criss mourned the loss of his older brother last month, he has some happy news to share this month. He and his wife Mia Swiers have become parents of a beautiful daughter with a very musical name; Bluesy Belle Criss.
On his instagram he shared that they had made beautiful music together.

  • Oh, who doesn't know him? Ralph Macchio! He will carry the "Karate Kid" stamp with him forever. He really doesn't mind this. Nearly 40 years later, apart from getting older, he hasn't changed much. He even pays tribute to "Karate Kid" at Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

This is it for this week.

WE WILL RETURN!

Do we know what if any role Batgirl will play in a standardized DC universe? The cool thing bout DC is you can set it on multiple earths (don't make me break it down XD)
