Battles Mages Secrets: No shot Shall be Missed!

Hello everyone, This is @cantfoldaces participating in the Weekly Battle Mage Secrets Challenge, in the best #play2earn game out there!! #Splinterlands!!

With the release of Rebellion, I gotta admit that getting out of Bronze became a little easier compared to the earlier domination of Yodin & Llama, on the other side, Silver became much more competitive and been struggling to cross the Silver II border while at the same time learning a little more about the Meta. On the other hand it been a LONG time since I shared some Mages Secrets:

Aim True

Icon
Description
  • All Melee and Ranged attacks will always hit their target
  • Applies to magic attacks even if the Phase ability is in play

A pretty straightforward ruleset that would make any fan of Sneak/Opportunity attackers welcome this kind of Ruleset. Every monster becomes buffed with kitty

As we know how oppressive kitty is since many abilities becomes useless in this contest namely:

Dodge, Flying, Phase, Blind

In this context, Speed gains an even higher advantage that determines every True Strike during the Battle:

Without further ado, let's jump right into the battle

  • A High Mana Battle 33 Mana is always welcome
  • Aim True + Super Sneak
  • Only Water & Dragons Are available

In this case and regarding the addition of super sneak that won't change much my strat, I decided to go as follow:

RoleCard(s)Description
SummonerMy Water Summoner would be my go to: Kelya does provide the best stats needed for this ruleset: Speed + Armor
TankersOne of the best Tanks in Silver regarding:
high Tankiness 14 hit points
Decent Speed & attack
Great synergy of abilities enrage + Trample
Even in super sneak, I solid offensive tank can do unexpected damage!
Armor destroyerRust ability got even better with Aim True Ruleset synergize extremely well with my team comp:
Nerfing enemy armor especially a mirror kelya battle that would have a 90% chance of happening in this battle
Open the path to my Opportunity Monsters!
Opportunity!
Opportunity water monsters are one of the best in the Modern set as both of them got enough Damage, Speed and even Tankiness to inflict some serious damage over the course of many rounds.
As a side not, Super Sneak overshadow Opportunity which turns them into sneaking Monsters

Round 1 Pre buffs/Debuffs

image.png

  • My opponent made great use of the Weapons training by providing both his attackless monsters 3 Melee Damage but the Venari play is a questionnable move imo!
  • Baakjira Slow already put my team at a speed disadvantage!
  • My Chaos Agent would buy some time and take on at least a couple of hits!

Round 2

image.png

  • My team was the one to score the first blood on enemy Venari Marksrat that buffed his adjacent allies.
  • Kulu Mastermind Armor was huge is reducing the upcoming Sneak Damage barrage from the enemy
  • Unfortunately Diemonshark got poisoned by Blight attack.

Round 3

image.png

  • Kulu Mastermind still holding on strongly against all the ruthless attacks from the enemy team while firing a 4 Melee Damage attack!
  • Since both Dr blight and Venator Kinjo got Camouflage, Enemy Noa the Just was the target of this round's attack and was finally taken over allowing my team to recover the lost armor!
  • Diemonshark will face its end of the next round!

Round 4-5

image.png

The battle still going on HOT! as both teams are in a tight position!

  • Diemonshark got defeated by poison and Kulu Mastermind finally gave up to the continuous Sneak assault
  • Safe for the enemy Bakjira and Kulu
Leaving a 2 VS 2 at the end of this Round with Dr blight inflicting poison on Deeplurker!

Round 6

image.png

Thanks to the speed advantage, I could've take down Venator Kinjo before the poison takes down Deeplurker!
The final showdown between: Noa The Just VS Dr Blight that finally ended up with my

VICTORY : +36 Trophies & 0.39 SPS

Post Battle Commentary

  • Enemy team was pretty solid and kudos to Dr Blight that ended surprising me with the unexpected damage (especially with the consecutive Poison Proc)
  • Having a Level 2 Kulu helped a ton with surviving consecutive Sneak attacks for almost a couple of rounds!
  • The new Meta Weapon Training made wining this battle possible!
