Splinterlands battle mage secrets : Broken Arrows
Happy weekend Splinter nerds
This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Broken Arrows.
It exempts range monsters from the battle and only allows the usage of magic and melee attackers.
In battle rules like this, players tend to counter the opponent's attack with thorns since there is a high possibility he would be using melee attackers or they counter with magic reflect, it is either the opponent uses magic attackers or melee attackers, no other choice, it all depends on how defensive you can be and at the same time attack.
The battle becomes more complex with additional rules and in this particular battle I am about to share, I was given two more rules.
Heavy Hitters: All monsters have the knock-out ability which does double damage when a monster is stunned.
Born Again: This gives all monsters the rebirth ability which allows them to be resurrected once when they die.
3 interesting rule sets and 4 splinters were available which were the fire, water, death, and dragon.
What would the opponent use? That was the first thought that ran through my mind before I even started to think of what I would choose and I had less than 3 minutes to do all this thinking.
In the end, I came up with the fire splinter using Conqueror Jacek with the Scattershot ability and that way the opponent won't be able to set a trap for me by using magic reflect as a tank or thorns to trap my melee monsters....
The opponent uses Lily Shieldpaw summoner that restricts my attacks to only the tanks, luckily jacek was not affected by that but when I saw the opponent monsters, I realized I made a very big mistake which was my tank.
I was thinking more about offense than defense, the opponent I placed at the front position was Arkemis the Bear and he is very vulnerable to magic attacks and 4 out of 6 of the opponent monsters were magic.
Sorriel the Bale & Immolation
These two were the monsters of the battle as they did more killings than others and saved me from being defeated by the opponent, Sorriel had the Double strike very useful ability, and Immolation Blast plus its 4 magic power was a blessing too.
The other monsters served as a good barrier that delayed the opponent's attack on my last 2 monsters which were my best attackers.

End to end stuff, at one point, I wasn't certain who would win but it was certainly a very good. I think you might not have needed the scavenge of the last card because the card with the double magic strike alright did the damage. Good win.
I might not win without the scavenge of the last card, if you notice the last card also took a lot of hit from the opponent but it didn't reflect much cos of the health base it gained through scavenging
It’s like you’re very familiar with the cards that your opponent used
I guess that gave you an upper edge
Right?
Not really, we both predicted what we were likely going to come up with and we use a summoner and summoner that would give us a edge over the other
