Love the giver more than the gift
It is the month of Love, and February bears a lot of gifts for lovers, especially the female gender, some of them always anticipate the date February 14 which is Valentine's Day, because their men shower them with a lot of gifts on that special day.
As for me, I count every day as special and do not wait for a particular day to shower a gift on my love.
When it comes to receiving gifts from others, I have not been so lucky. I have been the one giving, I guess most of them believe that I don't need the gifts so I am used to not receiving gifts, but recently I have been at the receiving end, thanks to some people whom I am going to give the honor to because they are on hive.
The first gift I ever got from a lady was from @Ifeoluwa88 and it was a monetary gift, the amount was 10,000 naira, I was surprised and happy because I never expected such a huge gift from her and I truly appreciate it.
The second person who gave me a gift was @quduus1, first, he did a frame for me and now he also gifted me for my birthday a water bottle with a hive logo on it.
A few days before he told me about the gift, I was still deliberating on buying a water bottle that I will use to take water to school because I did not want to be spending 200 Naira on bottled water daily, I love to minimize by expenses as possible as I can, so his gift was something I really needed and I so much appreciated it.
There is a saying that no matter what people gift us, we must learn to appreciate it which is right but I also think people should learn to read to whom they are giving gifts so they can really know what they need instead of gifting them something they won't appreciate.
Imagine gifting a hungry person a flower, I understand it is the thought that matters but do you think a flower is something a hungry person would appreciate? even if the flower cost a lot of money, he/she would appreciate food more than the flower.
There are many things a guy would love as a gift and as for me, right now, If someone can gift me any of the items mentioned below, I would love them.
Data & Mifi: Being an internet lover, I can't do without data, so someone gifting me data is really a considerable gift because I know how much I spend on Data every month. I use my phone as mifi so getting a real mifi would be nice too.*
Clothes: Aside from the singlet and boxers, there are nice guys wear like jeans, a top, and a shirt that when gifted to a guy, he would appreciate.
I would admit impressing a guy with a gift can be so expensive if you want to burst any guy's head including mine, guess some expensive things we would like.
- Cars
- Ps 5
- Iphone or Samsung Product
- Apple Watch
- Laptop
There are many more but those I mentioned above are top class that any guy would appreciate from you.
In the end, love the person that gifts you more than the gift because in the world we are now, it is hard to see someone willingly giving you a gift without you asking for it.
The fact that they gift you something means they have you in their heart and that matters a lot.

Wow. I love that water bottle with Hive logo on it. Quduus really read your mind that you needed a water bottle 🍶 and he did something nice, plus the monetary gift you got from Ife. Such wonderful gifts to you.
It doesn't matter how small a gift is, it is the heart that matters. Even a person may gift one big gift and if it doesn't come from the heart, it is as good as useless.

Yes, it is possible. It happened recently at my CDS. Now, we were told to bring a gift for our partner which we were paired with. This colleague of mine brought a fancy gift for her partner, then the next thing was for her to say she won't release it if the other guy didn't bring something nice. When the exchange of gifts came on, the partner brought chain for her and she said it's a fake one and refused releasing hers. According to her, she prefers to take it back home and use it instead of giving it out.
I had to persuade her to give it and let it slide. Even when she decided to do that, she gave it grudgingly which wasn't from her heart. You see? Lol

Look at how beautiful those bottles are, I wish I can get one, honestly it's good to cherish gifts no matter how little they are.
In my cases , most of the time I received books as gifts. Once I received a Coffee Mug also.
Water bottles with HIVE long is indeed cool and it will help to promote hive.. in case of expensive gift you can send anyone to me. I promise, I won't mind for it. 😅

Gift is not all about expensive gifts all about feelings. But now time is changing. You are lucky you have such people's around you. If you understand what the people around you need then that is really a good thing.

Love the water bottles, they look really nice! I think being appreciative when on the receiving end of gifts has a way of rubbing off to the giver in a really great way. Makes the experience wholesome :)
