Looking for New Contest Ideas / Reblog lottery

I started a Friday contest asking a question. This is separate from my reblog contest.

All people had to do is follow me and respond with an intelligible answer to my question. The prize was to be given 100% of the payout for my Saturday post. I'd also give it an Ecency boost (or promote it if they declined to Boost it), and get it as much attention and upvotes as possible.

The goal was to promote my posts, increase my followers, create engagement, and also give back to people who took the time to interact with me.

The first contest went fairly well, but this last one got very little participation. I wanted to get some interaction going, but I only got four comments, and two of them were after the deadline to be entered into the contest.

I still want to host an ongoing contest, but I want it to be successful. I can come up with ideas all day long, but if it's not what everyone as a whole wants to see, then it's not really of any value.

So the question is, what do you want to see in a contest as far as rules to enter and prize(s) are concerned?

Anybody who comments with a quality suggestion will get put into a drawing to win 5 HSBI for their time and feedback. I'll pick the winner Friday night, so get your entry in by 12/8 @ 10pm MST.

Each month, I give away a $1 Goldback or 4 HBD. The winner gets to choose.
Note: Some countries may have prohibitively expensive shipping or delivery, which may not be feasible. I reserve the right to award the winner 4 HBD instead of a Goldback at my discretion.

  1. Follow me. (If you're not a follower, you won't be entered into the drawing)
  2. Look for "Reblog lottery" in any of my post titles.
    Make sure it's for the current contest month, and is 6 days old or less, and click "Reblog".
    (Reblogging an older post will not get you an entry)
  3. An upvote is appreciated but not required, and does not give you additional entries.
  4. You'll get one entry for each qualifying article you reblog this way.
  5. At the end of the month I'll enter your name into the drawing and pick a winner at random.

Hey!
I have the impression that hsbi as rewards are quite hot at the moment, so we'll see if this 'lottery' will attract more people or not.

About your reblog lottery, I think it's kind of vague, if you reblog, you receive some tickets for a lottery at the end of the month. In my opinion it's better to give out something every time instead of receiving tickets for a monthly on.

Besides that, I think you just need to repeat it over and over. Several people organize lotteries and nothing on Hive is built from day one.

If you want as much attention as possible, add something in your title like contest. Use appropriate hashtags like #contest or #hsbi if you give out hsbi.

Maybe try out to write an article which fits a certain community and add a contest to it, next time do it in a different community. Besides that, be active in communities, not just spitting out giveaways, but engage on others articles and join the respective discords (and chat).

In terms of rules, I prefer some 'original giveaways', not just the 'enter your name' but something more creative which keeps the bots out. In terms of prizes, I like hsbi as we all win by receiving those! :D

Most Hive readers don't read much past the first paragraph or two, or even watch the entire video if is a vlog. I hardly write a blog that takes no more than 5 minutes to read as a rule of thumb unless my target audience are those that do, like storytellers.
You can Promote your blog Hivewide but I don't recall how much it will cost you, or focus on the unofficial '#contest' community that are members that are into what else, contests. Otherwise, join each community and find how you can fit-your-shtick in.

I head that but I think this is true for most people not just hive, sign of the time I guess most folks got low attention spans and little time
