Even If I Was Offered A Million Dollars!!

If there is one thing I have come to learn during my short time on earth, it is the fact that money is a great motivator. Whether to do something good or it is to do something bad. Money is that singular fact that can mess with people’s minds and have them do things that normally they would never have considered.

After all, prostitutes do it for money, and most crimes are committed because of money. I would like to think that if money was not their problem, they would have nothing to do with that life in the first place. Now, I know that there are still people who don’t need money to motivate them to do things that they won’t be proud of. I am just saying that the percentage of those who do it solely for the money is higher.

As it is said, everyone has a price. We don’t really know ourselves well enough until we find ourselves in a situation and we have to get out of it. A million dollars is a huge amount of money, I don’t even want to bother converting it into naira because the number of digits I would see would most likely make me pass out.

The thing is, I have seen people commit a lot of atrocities for way less. Hell, people have killed for less than $50, so tell me what they won’t do for a number with all those zeros backing it?

Well, as for me, there are a lot of things I won’t do for that amount of money. It is a mouthwatering amount indeed, if I say it won’t be entering my eye then I would be lying. But still, one has to have principles, right? We all need to live by a code, one that we hold dear so that no matter what the code will be what will direct our paths in life.

Sell My Soul!

This is one thing I would never do. And I don’t really mean this in the spiritual sense, even though that also factors in. I am saying that I will never get so desperate to get the money that I will hit that point where I will be willing to do anything and everything to get it!

This includes committing acts like murder, partaking in money rituals no matter how clean they might present it, human trafficking, and so on. These are major crimes, crimes that get you nothing less than life imprisonment or the death sentence as a penalty. And when you do them, you take a step you can never go back on.

You never remain the same after the first time, and it lives with you forever. You are either haunted by guilt over what you’ve done, or you’ll be haunted by the ghosts of your victims. Either way, you’ll never be free. I can never subject myself or anyone else to such a life.

Stop Writing!

As many of you know, I have been writing since my junior secondary school days. And I have been doing it constantly. The only time I didn’t really write much was when I had just gotten admission and due to getting accustomed to the new environment, I didn’t write for about a year. But I bounced back and got my groove.

Now, I am at a stage in my life where I can’t do without writing something in a day. I just have to write. It is impossible for me not to write. I might be able to go a day or two without writing, but by the third day, I will most likely explode.

My head is not big enough to hold the multitude of ideas that swim within it, and the only way I can relieve that is to write them all down. Either I’m writing the ideas or I’m writing a story, I do it so I can store the information and use it for a later date.

So, when I know the value of what I can write, I am sure that it will be way more valuable than a million dollars. I am absolutely sure of this fact.

In Conclusion!

I am actually sitting here as I type this, wondering what else it is that I would never do for that amount of money, and at the moment, there is nothing else I can think of. The ones I mentioned already are facts I have always known right from time.

One thing I am sure of is, nothing is ever free. There will always be payback. Karma will definitely come and catch up with you. If you end up doing something you don’t like for money, it will always come to bite you in the butt sooner or later.

Personally, I don’t see the point of having a lot of money if you can’t spend it on your parents. What’s the point of being a millionaire if you can’t tell your wife and children what you do for a living or why you have so much money? I don’t want to live a life of hiding and being secretive, because in the end, after getting it all, I’ll end up alone.

No one knows tomorrow, this is a fact I remind myself of every day. So in everything I do, I remember that Karma will always be lurking, always watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Waiting for you to make a costly mistake!
