Say goodbye to Spring sports

Green has finally started to take over and with that our Spring sports are in the process of winding down. Believe it or not, those trees beyond the fence in my back yard are also green now, all covered with leaves, vines, and foliage. The yard is also starting to recover after ten years of our dog Jovi using it as her personal bathroom.

Man I miss her.

Earlier this week, I talked about the teams that are in the College Softball World Series. In this post I am going to give you my predictions for what I think will be the outcome of the games.

The action starts today at noon when Alabama takes on UCLA. I think that UCLA will win that game and then Alabama will get relegated to the elimination game.

In that elimination game, they will take on the loser of the Oklahoma and Duke game that airs at 2:30 PM today. I think the loser is going to be Duke for sure.

I actually just noticed that there is some crossover in the two "quads" that are playing this weekend. The two games I mentioned above are games 1 and 2 respectively with the elimination game being game 5.

Game 3 is Texas versus Stanford. I've gotta be honest and say that I think Texas will win that game, but it is going to be dang close.

Game 4 will see Oklahoma State face Florida. This is another tough one to call, but I think the legacy of softball in Oklahoma is just too strong and Oklahoma State will likely proceed.

That means game 6 will be Florida vs. Stanford, and I hope that Stanford wins that one.

Game 7 pits the winners of game 1 and 2 against each other, so if I guessed right it will be UCLA vs. Oklahoma.

Game 8 will see the winners of games 3 and 4 face off. Assuming I am as smart as I think I am, it will be Oklahoma State and Texas.

This is where things get really interesting. Game 9 has the winner of game 5 facing the loser of game 8. In this case I am going to say it will be Alabama vs. Texas.

Give me a second to make sure I am not losing track of myself here. I understand it is all a bit confusing.

Game 10 will be the winner of game 6 vs. the loser of game 7. According to my predictions that will be a Cali reunion with Stanford facing UCLA.

Game 11 will most likely be Oklahoma versus Texas and game 12 will be another match up between Oklahoma and Texas since they will both only have 1 loss.

Finally, game 13 will be Oklahoma State vs. UCLA.

I'm going to go against the trend at this point and say that I think the final is going to be UCLA vs. Oklahoma with Oklahoma winning once again.

Texas is no joke though and I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up taking it all.

I've seen softball be totally unpredictable, so you just never know!

Thank you! I wouldn't be surprised if Texas took it all. It's hard to bet against Oklahoma though.
