Another sports weekend, but not the way I planned...

Another week, another great bunch of college basketball games. I'm still coming down from the high of Michigan State winning last night. That's two or three in a row now for them and it is definitely needed. I'd like to see a good road win, but I am not going to hold my breath.

I'll get to the Spartans a little bit later though.

The fact is, this weekend, I am not sure how much college basketball I am going to be able to watch. Tomorrow I have a work thing that is going to leave me sitting in a room something like the one above. I'm not looking forward to it, but it is part of the job.

Tonight I am hoping to watch my niece play with her high school team, but they were supposed to get some decent snow down in Ohio, so I am not sure they even had school today. If school was cancelled, then the game is probably cancelled too.

Sunday, I won't be sitting on my couch watching basketball, but I will be watching basketball. My sister and brother in law are out of town, so @mrsbozz and I are tasked with getting the boys to their games on time. Someone else is responsible for their sister!

It's going to be a full weekend, but hopefully I can find some time to watch a game or two.

Perhaps I will even catch a bit of the Big 10 match-up tonight between Indiana and Wisconsin. It's kind of crazy to see that Wisconsin is ranked #11 in the NCAA. Congrats Badgers, can you hold onto it though?

Monday gave us one top 25 game between Villanova and #17 Marquette. I bet on Villanova to get the upset and needless to say, I lost my money. Marquette won 87 to 74.

Tuesday brought us nine games in the top 25 and a couple of them were quite exciting. Most specifically the #19 TCU game that saw them getting upset by Cincinnati 81 to 77 in overtime. Kansas State also had a bit upset against #9 Baylor 68 to 64 in overtime.

Meanwhile, New Mexico took down #16 Utah State 99 to 86 and Penn State beat #11 Wisconsin 87 to 83. Remember what I said about Wisconsin being #11. Forget about it now. I didn't realize they had lost this week and that is going to change come next Monday. They will likely drop down into the high teens or low twenties assuming they don't lose again tonight.

Wednesday night we saw eight top 25 basketball games. LSU was the only darling with an upset win over #22 Ole Miss 89 to 80. In fact, none of the other games were even close. I should point out that current #1 team UConn held #18 Creighton to only 48 points in the entire contest. That's pretty impressive!

Finally, last night we had three top 25 games with only one upset. That was South Florida over #10 Memphis 74 to 73. They made it tough for them for sure. As I said, Michigan State played last night too, but neither they nor Minnesota is ranked, so it didn't show up on my feed.

MSU is finally starting to play like they are having fun and I think that is a good sign for their chances in the rest of the season. I'm hoping they can keep building on this success. There are a lot of good teams out there and it is going to be a tough road to the tournament.

Saturday gives us 18 games in the top 25. It's going to be tough to pick just one, especially given the fact that there are football playoff games on.

Any of the games in the Big East look like they could be good. There might be some good betting opportunities there as well.

#24 Iowa State vs. #19 TCU could be a banner match-up. Also keep your eye on #20 BYU vs. #25 Texas Tech. That could be a good game too.

Finally, rounding off your day with Georgia at #8 Kentucky or #22 Ole Miss at #13 Auburn could be good. Don't take my word for it though!

Sunday, there are only three top 25 games, so you might just as soon watch football. Maybe cheer on the Lions?

Sometimes we have to deviate from the game plan but it is a lot of fun watching and playing the game. If a member of the family team is playing, it becomes even more fun to watch.
