Don't Sleep On This HPUD | Hive Power Up Day

Hive has come a long way from it's first inception a few years back. If anything it's a shining example of what community can do, build and create during bull cycles, bear cycles and through a hostile take over. All of that speaks volumes as to what we as a community and blockchain have created already. It also shows what's possible for the future!

HPUD

On the first of each month we have a little fun project we call HPUD which stands for Hive Power Up day. It's a day where you can earn a badge through HiveBuzz https://hivebuzz.me/@bitcoinflood in which you'll need to power up at least 10 hive in order to earn the badge. Yep I missed a few myself but that's mainly because every day for me is a power up day and well I forget about HPUD myself. However I'm going to do a better job at brining attention to it as I onboard more people to the hive blockchain.

Also side note you'll see at the bottom of that page another badge for LEO tokens powered up. This takes place on the 15th of each month which I recommended to the team so it didn't interfere with hives power up day.

This is a simple yet effective method to get others involved. By powering up hive you're doing a number of things for yourself. Honestly consider it an investment in yourself.

Increased Recourses

The hive blockchain works off of recourse credits. Like a firehose only so much water can go through it at any give time. If you want to do more transactions, trades, games, comments, blog posts, threads etc then you're going to need more and more resources to be able to do that. By powering up your hive you'll now have a large part of that firehose to throughput your own data on chain.

Increase Revenue

Yep! You'll end up earning more hive by powering up hive. This is done in two ways. The first is a general APR which currently stands at about 3% and second a curation APR which is earn by voting on others articles, comments and threads. You should be able to get your APR in total to at least 6% thus increasing your hive stake by 6% APR. Now it's important to note this is variable APR which is not set in stone.

More Authority

One of the most powerful features however is more authority in the ecosystem. Your vote becomes more weighted for not only curation rewards but also for voting on the top witnesses and proposals which use up the DHF funds.

With more authority you get to help decide who should be the witnesses on the chain to run it along with backup witnesses and also proposals to vote where community funding should go.

Well there ya have it, not only reasons why you should want to get involved with the hive blockchain and HPUD but also what the benefits are and why you may want to stretch every cent possible towards powering up your hive and becoming a major authority on the chain.
