Is tolerance important? Here's my view

No two persons, even siblings from the same loins, are homogeneous. Starting from the home, all members of the family have their differences: in terms of speech tone, idiolect, character and belief which are unique and valuable to each of them.

For a happy and peaceful home, one must accept these differences between each other without taking undue advantage of other member's weaknesses, unconstructively criticizing and judging their morals.

In a home where intolerance leads, it result to: discrimination, disunity, bitterness and unfulfilled home.

Tolerance is an important virtue that should held up as a monument in every would-be successful home.

The diverse religions in our society has breed hatred and inequality: The Christians feel they are more better than the Muslim while the Muslims feels Christians are sinners and that the power of Allah surmount the power of God, likewise the traditional worshippers who still see their religion as being incomparable to other religions.

It's only tolerance that can synergize a Christian to live freely with a Muslim or a traditionalist. In a society where intolerance leads, disaster and war is rife. This is why we have the Boko Haram sacrificing their own lives just to kill innocent Christians in the northern part of Nigeria, because they want every citizens of Nigeria to practice the same religion as they do.

At times I feel its a negative thing among people with other religion, especially like Muslim, though we still have some good Muslim. If one wants to be judgemental with all these happenings in the society it would be a daunting tasks to have a peaceful and harmonized society.

In the society the importance of tolerance should be boisterously worn as a crown to show case it worth. In addition to this, children and teenagers should be well grounded on the needs of tolerance in the society to be free from pains and frustrations.

Another area that must not be left out is our place of work. The importance of tolerance should be over emphasis for a hearty and healthy work outcome.

In a case whereby we dwell among people with opinions that are different from ours, wearing a kind of dress that doesn't appease our dressing sense, belonging to a religion we do not appreciate, respecting rules and regulations which are not from our innermost heart, accepting our colleagues for who they are and for their best selves.

In this case we are willing to imbibe new things without negatively prejudging them in other to achieve the aims and goals of the institution as a result of team work and cooperation. In a nutshell tolerance is more like foundation to success.

In summary, we should wear tolerance so high on our shoulder, because a lots of people do not win the chance of living a sound and hearty life. If they are encumbered or we choose to be ignorant about their existence it's simply poses that we are more privilege and superior among others. This leads to a divide and unfulfilled system.
