An Important Class Of Food - WATER

I knew water was very important when I found out it is part of the six classes of food. Water happens to be very important in our daily lives. It helps our immune system stay active and also helps us stay hydrated. Dehydration could lead to death and also could damage most of our vitals. It is also known that water helps with clear skin. If you see a dermatologist, it will let you know that amidst all the skin care products, water is also essential.

I did my Industrial Training in an industry and I also got to learn about water treatment and also waste water. I was taught about how wastewater could be converted to clean water and the various kinds of water that we have. During my stay in the industry, I was able to carry out tests on different water brands in Nigeria.

It is okay to say that most Bottled water is not ever pure. Most people try to stay healthy by drinking bottled water instead of sachet water because they feel like bottled water has a higher purity than that of sachet water. Funny how when I carried out some tests using the litmus paper that shows if the water is acidic, neutral, or alkaline, some bottled water was not neutral which is supposed to be the accurate point of water.

It is said that Water is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, but then most people drink water and exclaim “This water is very sweet!!” I know it is difficult to get water at 7 points which is a neutral point, but then we try our best to drink and have good water. There are several sources of water but then some of the water gotten from some sources are not drinkable.

When we look at the finances one will spend in purchasing bottled water every day for a month and even a year you will realize that you are spending a lot and most times the water isn’t even clean at all. Most of our country even lacks good water and some parts find it difficult to produce clean water for bathing talk more about drinking.

If there is one step I take to ensure that I drink good water then it is boiling my water. I know this is a difficult process but then this has helped me a lot. I learnt this when I stayed with my Uncle who has a thing for cleanliness. The first thing he those is get water from the drinking tap. Then he will boil the water, after which he will allow the water to cool and then filter it with a water filter. Then he will use his litmus paper to check if the water is clean. Staying with my uncle taught me lots of things. He is rarely sick as he takes his health very seriously.

This way, he can save costs by buying water regularly. But the whole process will take almost a day as after filtering he will have to put them into bottles which he has washed thoroughly. Most times he puts the water into his can and uses his water dispenser. Save costs and stay healthy.

Thanks for the article. Boiling water gets rid of pathogens. Filtering water gets rid of particulates. Getting rid of dissolved minerals like lead and so on needs a little more work. If you really want "pure" water a distillation unit is great but then again doing that gets rid of all the dissolved calcium, magnesium, and dissolved ions which can be good for heath :)

Personally I'd filter the water first and then boil to make tea. Get something tasty and purified water out of the mix :)

That boiling process is really good in purifying water.

There is one thing I usually hear from people that sachet water gives typhoid I don't know how true that is though that's why they always go for bottled water because they feel the bottled is way healthier than the sachet water. This boiling of water isn't an easy thing to do sha but then it's our health so it's a must.

This is a long process, your uncle is next to Godliness after boiling he will filter and then use litmus paper to filter again, kudos to him, all this packaged water is just for fashion we do not know its source as well maybe they package well water for us we don't know.

Water is indeed vital to humans that's why it's advisable to take water first in the morning and regularly as we carry out our activities.

We in Scotland are so incredibly lucky as we can drink water straight from the tap or faucet, no need to buy that overpriced bottle crap!

Water is fascinating, we both have our backgrounds and I have designed many a potable water plant not to mention water treatment plants.

As for Hive and Water,,, all I can remember is when @dreemsteem trying to kill us all with water poisoning.... That was a fun challenge before your time I think IB with the five e's!

Hehe but Master of only a few. Here is one for you, when we designed water systems,do you know the water consumption per day in litres we would assume for people?

Wow, isn’t that a lot, I think I drink a lot of water though. But today I will try to see if I could regulate. Thank you Uncle Ed☺️

Your uncle is such an intentional person, that is very nice for real. I also support boiling water to make it safe for drinking.

Haaa, your uncle is really deliberate to what he drinks..me, e no pass boiling oo 😂..I have never filtered although I don't use tap water but satchet water..so I believe that the satchet water is already treated to some an extent and boiling it further can be good enough to drink...but I must admit that it can be tiring sometimes..lol

I use to fall sick a lot till I bought alkaline pot. I just put the tap water inside, the pot filters it, purifies it and turns it to alkaline in the right PH level. Most sickness is due to bad water, the moment I discovered this I said bye bye to medication.

Boiling was the way across the country when I was a kid. Now things have changed thanks to the water filters. They give pure water but interestingly some scientists are saying we still need to boil it. Though not many people do it thanks to not wanting to waste more gas, and time when we are already spending electricity to make the water filter work. Still I find having to buy water bottles very painful, as it feels like we are spending money for something which should be fundamentally free. We are still lucky as our area water is still there though the water level in soil is dipping very fast.

Interesting topic, water.

Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife

In my country, you either purchase the water filter or you end up boiling.

Yeah, boiling water helps to purify it, most people. believe because the water is in the bottle then it's pure haha. It's good to keep healthy and one way is to purify our drinkable water which also saves cost. Thanks for sharing.

Popped in from Dreemport, always an awesome #dreemerforlife.
