Guiding newbies through the complexities of hive

A couple days ago I was discussing with a newbie to hive, teaching him some stuff and he asked me a question "Why does everything have to be so complex?"

I didn't have an answer to that question. I just shrugged it off and told him, "all good things aren't easy to start at first."

But then it actually struck me that a lot of the things we do on a daily basis, isn't actually all that easy for the average Joe to comprehend immediately. They have spent a lot of time on traditional social media and are already used to it. On traditional social media platforms things are pretty much the same, or quite similar so on your first day with little to no intervention you can pretty much figure out how everything works, and be completely familiar and all knowing in like a week or so.

But on hive, things are much more different. Even creating a hive account (a free one) itself is a hassle and almost no newbie will be able to do it without the help of someone already knowledgeable. If a newbie was left completely on their own, unguided they most likely won't thrive on the platform and may ultimately leave a frustrated figure.

I remember my early days on hive as well. I was completely clueless about almost everything. Just going where the wind blows me and trying to do things I saw other hivers do. Luckily hive is full of so many nice people who always answered any questions I had. I also got even luckier when I went down a rabbit hole one time and found the terminal. It was from there I learnt lots of stuff about hive, and I've been moving one step at a time ever since. Even after almost 2 years of being here I still learn one or two things very often. Such is the nature of the hive blockchain, it is quite dynamic.

The world of crypto can be quite fascinating, but at the same time it is really broad, it has so many terms, terminologies, concepts, technicalities, that can be quite overwhelming for anyone. So as a newbie one needs a guide to monitor, teach them, and be with them every step of the way, till they can find their footing and fully wrap their head around all of it.

I have been trying that with the one or two people I have brought Into the ecosystem that seem eager to learn, and I have to admit that though it's not easy, it is nice when you finally see someone you taught something doing great and finally thriving. I hope I am able to achieve that.
