The Reunion On The Plane.

"We've got goodness, guys," my dad said excitedly as he laid down our international passport and visa, which had been approved for us to leave our country for good as permanent residents in the U.S.A.

"This is good news, Dad," I jumped up and gave him a very tight hug, and I started to imagine how beautiful the U.S.A. is after reading so much about it and viewing so many pictures of it on the internet.

I quickly picked up my phone which was right on the couch "Hello, Joodie, Please call me as soon as you get this text". I was so excited that I had to text my bestie Joodie to inform her of my plans to relocate, but sadly, her number wasn't going through.

Three weeks passed and I didn't get a call from Joodie. I began to feel bad that I would be relocating without informing her, but then we had to go for good.

That night, my siblings were all excited, but I looked gloomy. Mom noticed, and then she asked, "Jimmie, what's wrong with you? You should be excited about our relocation," I didn't know how to tell her that I hadn't reached Joodie for a while since the relocation plan was supposed to be a secret until we arrived in the U.S.A.

I faked a smile, "Mom, it's nothing. I am just having mixed feelings. I am excited about the news, but I think I'll miss everyone I've known and everything I've been used to," I managed to hide the truth.

"I know how it feels, but you'll make new friends and love new stuff over there too," she said, patting me on the back, and somehow I knew someday I and Joodie would eventually reunite once again.

In a bid not to spoil the excitement in the house, I joined my siblings in checking our packed stuff once again as our flight was leaving in about 5 hours, and once again I tried to reach Joodie, but her line wouldn't go through. "I've tried my best, Joodie," I whispered as I gave up trying to reach her.

We all left the house in excitement for the airport, and as soon as we boarded the plane, I heard someone call my name "Jimmie!" The voice didn't sound like my sibling's or my parent's; it was a very familiar voice, but I wasn't sure who it was. I turned around to see who it was, alas! It was my own Joodie!

"Are you kidding me?" I was gobsmacked as Joodie was the last person I expected to meet on the plane. Everyone on the plane fixed their eyes on me, as they could feel my excitement.

The good thing was, that Joodie was right behind me, and so we exchanged a very tight hug, and of course, I shed some tears. "Who could have thought? What happened to your number?" I asked Joodie because I needed answers as to why I couldn't reach her.

"I am so sorry, Jimmie; my phone got stolen and there was no way I could reach you. Remember that scholarship? It was approved, and right now I am headed to Western Michigan University". She said excitedly.

"Wow! I am so happy for you. My family and I are also relocating to the U.S.A. as permanent residents, and I felt so bad that you weren't informed". I said as I hugged her once again.

"Now, that's a reunion on the plane," my little sister said excitedly. "Yeah, I finally reunited with my friend on the plane, and we will be seeing ourselves often as she's also headed to Michigan, U.S.A," I replied immediately as I couldn't contain my excitement. I and Joodie took a nice shot and caught up with so many gists ever since we parted, and that journey was the most memorable one ever.

What a heartwarming story of friendship and reunion! The twist at the end where Jimmie expectedly sees Hoodie is a delightful way to end the story. It means their friendship continues in the US. Nicely done. !LADY

It's really captivating how it seemed as if Hoodie and Jimmie wouldn't reunite only for things to turn around.

Relocating to a new place is never easy and less so if it's another country. This turn of events would be amazing if true, as the series of unfortunate happenings eventually lead one to a happy reunion with a friend. A joy to read. I would work a bit more on the last paragraph.

I think the little sister should be mentioned earlier in the story, so the reader knows that she's there. There should be a new paragraph after the little sister speaks (as shown below), otherwise it seems like the little sister is still speaking and not the protagonist. Lastly, instead of saying "I and Joodie", it should be the other way around, "Joodie and I".

I hope this helps!
