Hello Newbie...
It's me @amiegeoffrey who is not even a year old on the blockchain, from my little stay here, these are a few things I want you to know.

Firstly, Hive is the best place to be, welcome once again to the blockchain, now you are here, you should make yourself feel at ease.

Be Real, Be Authentic, Be Yourself.

Do not try to be who you are not just to please others, be who you are, that way you get to excel better, find a niche you are comfortable with, and begin to write.

We have loads of communities here, you can discover them through the explore section, find what you love, and write about it.

Engage with other users and Make Friends

Write on your niche, that way you wouldn't be tempted to plagiarise, also ensure to engage with other users who share the same mindset as you, don't just drop your post and move to the next post to write, read other people's post too and share your thought, that way you are also inviting people to your blog, they too would likely check your blog and share their thoughts and have some fun while at it.

Don't write for the reward alone

You might have heard that Hive pays, but there's so much work to do, remember Rome was not built in a day. Your first few posts might not earn you a pretty upvote, but once you focus on the reward, you lose your joy and that might even make you demotivate you from writing entirely.

So here's what to do, ensure whatever you are writing is either informative, funny, educative, or intriguing, put in so much work in your write-up, proofread your work, use the right tags, use a fancy style of writing, and make sure your post is at least a 3mins read article.

Even if you are not getting pretty upvotes immediately, you are surely making an impact and with time, things will fall in place for you.

Use a catchy title and thumbnail

The first thing people see is the title of the post and thumbnail, so ensure you use a very attractive title and thumbnail.

Pictures should be very clear and related to your topic.

Ask Questions and make use of the Discord servers

One thing that has helped me grow here on Hive, is humility.

Yes, humility is needed to survive here, humility to obey instructions, humility to ask questions or seek help when you are confused and that could only be done by joining servers of your niche communities.

Ask questions and practice!!

Create a Schedule and Be consistent

No doubt, we all have other things to do in real life, learn to create a schedule on how you intend to manage your Hive and real life.

Map out days for each community and ensure to be consistent there. That way, you are advertising yourself to other members of the community, that's how you get seen and heard, and lend your voice.

What consistency does is that it helps your name to remain in the heart of your readers, when you see a particular name all the time, it sticks to the memory, that's the beauty of consistency!

Follow accounts that inspire you and learn from them.

Source Your pictures and other links used properly.

Even though the picture you used is yours, ensure to state below that the images belong to you and use only free images which can be found on Pexel, Unsplash, and Pixabay.

Don't link on random links sent to you, either in your inbox or comment sections, so you don't lose your funds, verify any link before clicking.

Use Ecency Frontend.

Using Ecenecy has some benefits which help you to earn points, when you just use Ecency you get points, and comments and upvotes earn you points as well.

Do not beg for a vote by stating please upvote or reblog

That's not good. You don't need to beg people to upvote or reblog your post, they know they should when they see a quality post.

Don't feel entitled.

Nobody owes you anything here when people upvote your post, it is just a way of showing appreciation for your time and effort and motivating you, so don't feel entitled to it, it will steal your joy away when you don't get what you expected, just how with the flow.

Join the Contest or prompts.

These contest and prompt go a long way to shaping your writing skill, it also helps you to be disciplined as there are deadlines for submission.

Always follow instructions or rules for each prompt and community, this way you stand a chance of being a winner or getting noticed by curators.

Promote your post on Leo

Share and promote your post on Leo, Twitter, and other Discord servers.

Delegate Hive power

Delegation helps you earn passively, some community reward delegators with liquid hive, which in turn become an investment for you.
