NEWBIES TASK TWO : I WAS GUILTY OF THIS 😬
I will have to point out that it wasn't a deliberate action as i was yet to know about using marksdown in hive.
It was during the tutorial on the use of marksdown that i got to know that i was meant to use blockquotes to cite words from another author and also for words, explanations gotten from google and other sources. Without further ado let me jump in to other Do's and Don'ts in hive.
HIVE GUIDELINES.
- The first and the most important rule in hive is to avoid plagiarism. This means that copying other people's work as yours is prohibited. If you must copy then you must indicate that it isn't yours by citing the author or you can make use of blockquote.
- Second is sourcing. The use of pictures that are not originally yours is never allowed. Nevertheless there are free sites that one can source pictures which are Unsplash.com, Pixabay.com and Pexels.com . You must also put a link that will direct people to where these pictures are gotten from.
- Do not tag people that have no connection to your post. You cannot tag a food recipe to leofinance community. Right use of tag will expose your post to the right audience.
- Do not beg for votes because it looks petty and unprofessional.
- Engagement is key in hive as hive is not a dump site to where posts are being dumped.
SOME HIVE MARKSDOWNS.
Marksdowns are like elements that make your post beautiful and exciting to read. While some are pretty easy, others requires constant practicing to acheive perfection.
Heading: there are 6 sizes in heading and they are represented with the hashtag sign #. Just type # then leave a space before typing your heading. One hashtag(#) is the biggest size of heading while six hashtag (######) is the smallest. Let me use #, ####, ###### headings as examples.
TYPES OF HEADINGS
TYPES OF HEADINGS
TYPES OF HEADINGS
LINEBREAKS: This is used to end a section of a post and start a new section. You can achieve this by putting three **** or --- below the section. As i did at the after explaining the next marksdown.
TEXT JUSTIFICATION: text justification is used to arrange your text so they can all be even.It was difficult for me at first but i tried it over and over till i got it right plus i got help from @nkemakonam89 too.
Use OF CANVA FOR THUMBNAIL.
I am quiet familiar with canva before i joined hive. What i do is that i deploy the most easiest way of using canva for thumbnail which is by making use of available templates and then redesigning to suit my taste.
I will really commend my team leader @depressedfuckup for his leadership and for carrying us along in this programme. I believe that the more i write the more i would get acquainted with all the marksdown, guidelines and also put in more creativity in my canva design.

Hey there,
It’s okay to make mistakes but it’s good we learn from our mistakes and that’s exactly what you’ve done.
Nice presentation you have there. Your thumbnail looks good.
Good work.👏👏
Thank you so much. It good to acknowledge our mistakes and make amends.

Hey, happy to see that you’re not submitting your post on deadline this time. I’m also glad you realize what you did was wrong and that you apologize. I hope that nothing like that happens again in the future.
You said this right, but backing it with…
…makes no sense. The two points talk about different things: tag spamming in the sense of unnecessary mentions and tag abuse in the sense using tags that are not related to your content.
You know, I didn’t know you could three asterisks to make a line break until now. I’ve always used the dashes and thought it was the only way to create a line break.
You presented your post nicely and I like it. I notice that even though you didn't talk about some of the markdowns, you applied them in your post still and that's cool as what we really want is just to see that you actually know how to use the markdowns. Great job!
@depressedfuckup thank you team leader. All the corrections are well noted.
Yeah, markdowns was a necessity when making blogs since it makes the blog more organize and easier to read for others.
I have been writing for a long tike without some of yhe major marksdown. I was so happy to finally get to read learn about them and also apply them.
