The Fire and Regret Ruleset - Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "Fire and Regret" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the ruleset of the game, When hit with a Ranged attack, Monsters with Return Fire will return reduced damage to their attacker. I used my account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I am currently playing in the Silver league of the Wild Format. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly examine the game's Ruleset.

FIRE AND REGRET

Ruleset Icon	Description
Fire and Regret	When hit with a Ranged attack, Monsters with Return Fire will return reduced damage back to their attacker. Damage returned is equal to the damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up. Summoner Lir Deepswimmer gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle.
	The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

Summoner:

I chose the "LOBB LOWLAND summoner". It was a 40-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. I chose the LOBB LOWLAND summoner so that my opponent's monsters would have a decrease in speed. I included the Quora Towershead monster so that it will increase in stats after eliminating a monster and with those two martyr monsters plus to my team as well. My team lineup comprised Unicorn Mustang, Fungus Flinger, Quora Towershead, Venari Marksrat, Goblin Psychic, and Wood Nymph.

1st Position:

Unicron Mustang, this card has the magic void ability. It is an 8-mana monster with a speed of 4, 3 melee attack damage, and 10 health with 0 armor protection.

What Transpired in the Battle:

First of all monsters took their effect from the summoner by reducing my opponent's monster's speed. My opponent's lineup comprised six monsters including the Endless Ape, Fungus Flinger, Goblin Psychic, Ujurak Mystic, Mycelic Slipspawn, and Venari Marksrat.

In the first round, Unicorn Mustang with the highest speed attacked followed by a magic attack from the Quora Towershead monster. Further attacks from the subsidiary monsters occurred and at the end of the round, no monster was eliminated.

Round 2:

In this round, as usual, Unicorn Mustang with the first move of attack followed by the Quora Towershead monster after which the Wood Nymph monster attacked and eliminated the Mycelic Slipspawn monster. The two martyr monsters attacked and with the regret ruleset, they were attacked back and eliminated. These increased all stats of my adjacent monsters especially that of the Quora Towershead monster.

Round 3:

In this round, my opponent was left with five monsters in his lineup but I had hoped to win the battle because the monsters left in my opponent's team weren't strong enough to battle me.

I was able to eliminate the Endless Ape in this round.

Round 4:
We would call this a final round because my opponent's monsters can't survive it again. The first attack from the Quora Towershead monster eliminated the Fungus Flinger monster after which the Unicorn Mustang monster also attacked and eliminated the Goblin Psychic monster in my opponent's lineup.

Goblin Psychin attacked and eliminated a monster after which the Wood Nymph monster did the last job and that was the end of the battle.

This was how my battle went and I won it with ease. I think the selection of my cards especially going in with martyr cards was a great idea. In four rounds, I was able to emerge victorious at the end of the battle.
