The trappings of good intentions.

Good intentions are tantamount to running in front of a steam locomotive running at full speed smoke pouring out of its chimney the locomotive driver gives warning whistles but we continue our run, pretending that the locomotive is not behind us.

You can give many examples of good intentions which in the opinion of one of the parties is good for the other party but I want to share only some observations about the life of cats.

Let's compare the life of a domestic cat which is cherished and caressed by its owner and the life of a feral cat that walks on its own.

I am not an easy outside observer I was a cat owner, and I was also the owner of a pet store where many cat owners came every day who loved their pets very much and spent considerable amounts of money on them.

So let's start with common features, namely both a wild cat and a cat living in a house sleep a lot get tired quickly do not obey commands and know their worth.

The main difference between the lives of both cats is nutrition its maintenance and regularity.

Wild cats do not know what diet is and eat what they can find or catch for example, they can catch a mouse or rat.

For domestic cats people buy dry and canned food with additives.

These are supplements for shiny coats for urolithiasis and other diets but... diet is a stupid invention of man that does not lengthen his life and long-livers living in the mountains ate meat dairy products and everything that God gave them all their lives and lived happily ever after.

In fact all these diets shorten the life of domestic cats and instead of fancy food it is better to breed mice that have everything necessary for a happy and long life for cats.

You say... ugh... mice... how disgusting?

But it’s strange that snake owners feed their pets mice, but cat owners can’t do this?

It turns out that cat owners are between disgust and the risk of losing their beloved animal; in fact, for them cats are just fun entertainment and not friendship for a lifetime.

Do you know how wolves survive in the polar regions?

They only eat mice and that's enough for them.

Sometimes we think that we know enough to take responsibility for a living creature that we want to place in our home, but we don’t understand that we have to give up some things and not adjust the cat’s life to our conditions but on the contrary to create ideal conditions for a cat to live in captivity.

I have no other explanation for the fact that wild cats live longer than cats living in a human house if we compare conditions without taking into account the encounter of a cat with a car wheel or a pack of wild dogs.
