UPDATE: Problem fixed || We are investigating the glitch that seems to have zeroed out 2-days worth of VYB rewards

(edited)

Problem was display-only (with the front-end) and it has been fixed.

UPDATE #2: @eonwarped has confirmed that the problem was with the front-end display. He has fixed the problem, so all posts published after the switch to a 4-day voting window should now be displaying pending rewards properly.

UPDATE #1: According to @eonwarped (Hive-Engine developer), this seems to be a front-end issue only. The front-end is displaying post rewards as if the payout-period is 2 days instead of 4. That means after a post is 2 days old, rather than displaying 'pending rewards' (i.e. as calculated by the front-end), the front-end tries to display 'actual rewards' (but those are still zero, because the payout hasn't actually occurred yet.

If the above is correct, then the first post created after the 4-day voting period was initiated, which is currently showing zero rewards, should show the correct (paid out) rewards in a few hours time.

Four days ago, the rewards-pool rate and the vote window were doubled. Every post thereafter (including the β€˜double trouble’ announcement post itself) seems to have had its rewards zeroed out.

It seems that this is the first post that was affected and this was the last, with every post in between also being affected.

We have initiated a tech support ticket with Hive-Engine to have them look into what happened.

If it turns out that a bug in the smart contract did indeed zero out author and curator rewards, we will do our best to make sure those rewards get properly issued.

NOTE: The main reason we started the rewards-pool at a reduced rate with a shortened voting window was to be able to identify any glitches quickly and early. We will get this figured out and corrected as quickly as possible.

@vyb.vyb @trostparadox
I've got a couple questions and thoughts.

The VYB whitepaper said this:

Vybrainium (VYB) Rewards Pool
90% of VYB inflation will be issued to Proof of Brain / Verify Your Brain content creators and curators (based on stake-weighted voting with the VYB token) on posts that use any of the following tags:

pob
proofofbrain
hive-150329 (i.e. posting from the official Proof of Brain front-end)
vyb
verifyyourbrain
Other tags may be added; however, for folks who expressly do not want to receive VYB rewards for their posts, they can use the tags 'novyb' or 'no-vyb'.

If so how come when one doesn't tag their post with #vyb or #verifyyourbrain the post doesn't show on vybranium.com even though they used the proofofbrain frontend or tagged #proofofbrain/#pob?

And since it doesn't show there does it still receive vyb rewards?

My man @frot is going from door to door like Jehovah Witness sharing the good news of VYB tribe with more emphasis on using the #vyb tag, he won't need to do that if simply using the proofofbrain frontend or using the proofofbrain/pob tags would be enough to qualify a post to receive vyb rewards, isn't it? He'll now be free to rest and spend more time with his fairly decent Transgender partners.

During these initial few weeks, while we are testing everything out and while the rewards-pool is running at a reduced rate, the smart contract is set to only recognize #vyb and #verifyyourbrain. I will update the initial white paper to reflect this.

And since it doesn't show there does it still receive vyb rewards?

If a post does not show up on the www.vybrainium.com front-end it is not eligible to receive VYB tokens from the rewards pool.

That is correct and that is the intention (that VYB will function as an extension of POB). However, we wanted to reward those who are actively involved in these early VYB discussions, to set it up so that they benefit directly during this testing / ramp-up stage.

Ok, thanks, man, I get it now. Testing phase.

I also had a few extra questions;

I'll like to know, what is all the double trouble and stuff about?

Is VYB not supposed to go with POB and release 50 VYB every 10 minutes (About 7200 every 24 hours)?

If so, is the 7200 daily VYB not supposed to just go around based on the votes dispersed daily?

Also, I'll like to ask, every reward from VYB comes fully staked? Including curation rewards?

Are the answers to these questions testing phase too?

Dear @vyb.vyb,

Do you mind supporting the HiveBuzz proposal for 2022 so our team can continue its work next year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Have you noticed that many of the posts are not showing the correct thumbnail either, but the users avatar in this space instead?

Since some are, my theory is that posts published directly through the VYB frontend have the thumbnail determined by the author, but those added through tagging the community on another frontend do not.

This is only happening on the posts when viewed through the VYB frontend, but not when viewed through another.

Is this part of the design?

0E-8 BEE

Thanks for the report, I've fixed this now.

0E-8 BEE

Definitely not part of the design. I'm not surprised that these problems are occurring. I see little glitches occurring when a new front end gets released. Fortunately, though, we've been getting quick reports through the community and eonwarped has been addressing them promptly.

0E-8 BEE

Oh, I'm definitely not surprised. I've been part of many o' start up social platform. It did take me days to get someone's attention about it though. Of course, it happened at the worst possible time of the year.

Thank you

That's so thoughtful of you guys. We all can understand it now clearly, thank you so much. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Even rewards that are supposed to drop, disappeard without dropping to users wallet

Has that been fixed or how can that type of lost rewards be given back

0E-8 BEE

If you are aware of any posts that did not receive their proper rewards, please let me know (as in, provide a link to the post) and we will look into it.

0E-8 BEE

How do you intend to rectify upvote on comments that disappeared without dropping on the user's wallet.

Cause am a victim of that too
